i don't think its worth it

first, my appointment was 12:00pm but the treatment started 12:20 without telling any reason at all.

second, as we book for appointment, we are quoting, streetdeal, isnt it? not so much issue but...

third, he is abt ro start the rebond process, i was adviced that the streetdeal voucher i purchased will be using s korean brand that would make my hair dry. comes from their mouth that they are not using good products.

fourth, he offered me the option to top for $100 them he will use shishedo, or $50 if normal. it seems that streetdeal offers their abnormal product.

fifth, i told him its alright to top up but if the top up price is even higher that your original purchase, its not fair

conclusion, i don't think its worth.

Update: i went to amk ave 3 branch.

Had to cut my own hair

The Groupon i purchased was $20 for a hair colour, treatment and hair
cut, valid for six months, for hair up to mid-back, appointment to be
made and Groupon printout to be presented. (See photos below for
Groupon)

I had accepted these terms and made an appointment for 1.30pm on 14/8
Wednesday, stating that I would be using my Groupon. On 14/8 I was
unwell and changed my appointment to 1.30pm on 15/8.

I entered the hair salon at the appointment time and was provided
colour choices for my hair. I selected a colour and then was told:
1) I could use this colour for an additional $40, or use a different
colour from a different chart. However that dye was inferior and
would be ‘not shiny’, ‘not nice’

I did not wish to pay an additional $40 so opted for the basic dye.
After which I was then told:
2) The Groupon offer was incorrectly published, and colour was only
valid for short hair. My hair was below my ear and considered long,
requiring more dye than short hair.

I showed the hairdresser that the Groupon stated ‘up to mid-back
length’. If there was a discrepancy, Groupon should have
retracted/refunded purchases. She claimed that Groupon had told them
to tell customers individually of this ‘error’

3) I was not told of this when I phoned for the appointment and
mentioned I was using my Groupon, or when I was offered dye samples

The Manager then came and said the same thing. This time I said just
cut my hair short then, to save on their hair dye. She agreed but then
added:
4) I needed to pay for the ‘brightener’. If I used the basic dye
without this ‘brightener’, the colour would not show through, it would
be dark ( I had asked for mid-brown).

I had been to many salons before and never had been requested to add
‘brightener’ before. I declined, suspiciously. So, the Manager then:

5) Instructed her hairdresser to ‘cut her hair very short’. I had
agreed to cut my hair short to lessen the amount of dye required,
since a cut was needed anyway but

6)The hairdresser put my hair up, then worked on the back of my hair.
She cut the back of my hair , the lenght up to my ear! Straight
across, the length to my ear. Since when do women have their hair cut
straight, to their ear.

Exasperated with their apalling tactics, I took the scissors to my own
hair. The other customers were all in shock but I cut my own hair to a
much shorter, but appropriate bob. All the hairdresser could muster
was:
7) “Don’t drop my scissors, it will spoil if it falls”.

After five minutes, the Manager got a little nervous and rushed to
take the scissors away from me, claiming the hairdresser was in a
hurry. And that the camera was filming and her boss might see, that it
wasn’t good for other customers to see that. Finally she yelled to the
hairdresser:
8)”Put only half the amount”

My hair colour did not appear, it was darker than before the
appointment, and I had to cut my own hair or have it cut to
ear-length.

Needless to say, not only will I never return to that salon, but I am
incredibly wary of future Groupon vendors and deals, as not only was
the product/service not provided, they had blamed Groupon for
incorrect printing of their deal. Their deal really, should have been
$20 for ear-length inferior/non-shiny hair dye without brightener and
treatment without cut.

Went home with wet hair

I just did my perm with City Hair Cut Studio with groupon voucher. When I show the voucher to them, they told me that the voucher is not for digital perm and asked me to top up $70 for digital perm. I was very surprised to know about this and I don’t know what makes the discrepancy but other salons do not differentiate ceramic and digital perm. Ok, since I was here and the voucher was bought by my colleague (I paid), I did the perm with them. Obviously the perming machine is not hot enough and they had to use an hair blower to blow my hair during the perming and made my scalp very painful. Also they did not ask me what curl I want and directly used small curl for all which is not suitable for me. The water used for washing was very cold also. Furthermore, because they wanted to go home (it got late due to the machine), there was no proper blowing and I went home with wet hair.. The second day I washed my hair, and the wave nearly disappeared!
I spent S$98 for a messy and shorter hair. Previously my hair was very long and nice, they cut away nearly 1/3…NOW I WANT TO CRY!!!

The hair looks dry and the wave is so big within 1st week. I washed it this morning. If I do not wash at morning, it will go out of shape. I went to the amk outlet. The hair stylist is a slim Malaysian lady. However, I don’t think she should be 100% responsible for this. The boss need to improve the facilities.

Very rude & arrogant attitude & irresponsible service

VERY RUDE & Arrogant ATTITUDE & IRRESPONSIBLE SERVICE BY City Cut Hair Studio (Singapore)

I’m seldom so enraged by bad service provider and can’t be bothered to waste my precious time on them. But I have to say this City Cut Hair Studio is the worst you can ever encounter. Objective of this is to cautious others regarding this poor service provider and hope to serve as a reminder to all service providers out there. I have nothing much to gain from this small salon and It is also not to gain any attention from their management because they are precisely the one giving us the problem.

SUMMARY

– Rebond at salon failed, burned and killed some parts of the hairs at the roots
– Salon was not able to offer refund or any compensation for the damages done
– No apologies from their bosses
– Re-directed us to Groupon
– Failed to take the blame, pushed all the blames to their employees
– Loud and demeaning attitude when talking to us

DETAILS

My fiancee bought a Groupon for rebonding at City Cut Hair Studio and after calling them many times, she finally got to book an appointment with the salon on 8th Apr 2013 (Monday). After the rebond, she realised there are many parts of her hair (near the roots) that was dead and entangled. She managed to call back and was advise to wash and it should get better. However, her hair condition was still the same. So we went back on 11th Apr 2013 (Thursday) to the Ang Mo Kio outlet to have them take a look.

When we reached there, it was crowded and packed as usual and we waited 15 minutes for one of the lady boss to get to us as she was busy. She was nice enough to do a check and to explain on what caused the hair condition (which is due to them placing the rebonding zapper too near her hair’s roots).

We were fine and she tried to ask us to wait so she can try her best to rectify her hair. However, as the damages are already done and my fiancee has already lost confidence, we just wanted the most from them was maybe a refund or some compensation for the damages. None was given, and not only that, no apologies were given as well as they refused to take any blame.

One of the other female boss came in and started to talk to us in a loud and demeaning tone. She started pushing all the blames to Groupon, saying they draw a clear line with Groupon, they only advertise on Groupon and Groupon is the one who should be responsible for the services and any refunds. We are utterly disappointed. Aren’t they the service provider? But they said “we cannot do anything, we are just a service provider”.

Then, she advised us to lodge a tribunal claim on Groupon. She also mentioned her friend is the GM of Groupon, we were wondering was that the reason such a poor attitude and irresponsible salon was listed on Groupon?

On top of the tone, demeaning and insulting and arrogant words like these were also used:

“What do you want? You can complain all you want.” – In actual fact, we only ask for a good attitude and responsibility from them. Why will we waste so much time to go down to their salon just to get a mere $20+ refunds?

“What is your objective? You can complain all you want. You tell us the objective, If we cannot do it, please sue us!”

“You go complain about us, write in the website”

“What do you want? You want us to close down the shop is it?!”

“Is only $20.. not worth it, If want to do a claim, do a proper claim. I teach you what to do… I claim big claims la, over $2000 over”

Then, they “explained” to us “I’m so sorry, I can’t do anything”. But if we write in letter to them, they can hold responsibility by firing somebody. And said “I think that is a very good answer you know, what you want me to do? Close the whole shop”.

We just feel sad for the hair stylists working there too, because my fiancé overheard two of the China foreigners hair stylist were saying (while she was doing her hair) how their boss has packed so much customers due to their Groupon deal, and how they skipped meals the whole day and can only reach home about 1am. Really felt sorry for the bosses’ employees who worked so hard for them yet this is what the boss said about them.

In summary, what we see is just a cheap salon trying to earn as much money as they can. Providing of services is just to earn your money. What happen to your hair after that is not their problem (Is Groupon’s as what she have said). And also a very heartless and arrogant female boss.

The full argument that we had with the bosses can be found here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyjBsuJjZXI (Please take note we actually bought the deal from Groupon but incorrectly said as Deal and we just carried on with the argument)
