You'll be glad to know that they've just assembled a team of outstanding stylists to create a new concept: FiNDER by COVO near Duxton with the same great service!
Yes, the place still features the same semi-private cubicles that characterise COVO salons although the place is smaller than the other two outlets at Keong Saik and Katong.
The decor isn't what made us most excited about FiNDER though. Here, they've assembled a team of very skilled Japanese stylists who have been raved quite a bit for their beautiful hair works, particularly in hair colour! Hajime for example is very strong with bright hair colours that can make you look exactly like your favourite anime character whereas Kazz is excellent with adding just a pop of colour to brighten up your work-friendly hairstyle. Shobu's balayage, on the other hand, will satisfy even the most fussy of Caucasian hair because he learned directly from Vidal Sassoon and because of his impressive portfolio in France, UK and the US. With 3 of them featuring distinct styles, you can be sure to find your personal colouring style right here at FiNDER.
They aren't just good at hair colouring though; Shobu's haircut is legendary thanks to his strong training in Vidal Sassoon UK and strong belief that the hairstyle should look good at all angles. If you find your hair a little too hard to manage, Kazz is the person to go to for treatments. He is the most well-versed in the best type of treatment that suits each hair type and so have yielded a lot of compliments for his accurate choice of treatments.
Skill aside, this is one of the few Japanese salons where most of its Japanese stylists have a strong command of English. The founding stylists have after all been in Singapore for a number of years and so can communicate quite well in English. Still, they do have a translator as a receptionist so miscommunication is much less of a problem here.
Overall, this new kid on the block is a hidden gem. Their exterior may be unassuming but the stylists within have already gotten many raves for their stunning colours, and fast but easily manageable lunchtime haircuts for professionals in the area!
Definitely a Japanese hair salon you should check out if you're staying or working in the area!

- Strong stylist team with all of them very strong in hair colours with Shobu particularly notable for his haircut and Kazz and Hajime with Keratin treatments as well.
- Personalised service as your allocated stylist will attend to you from start to finish
- Semi-private area gives customers more space and privacy
- All the Japanese stylists here have been working in Singapore for some time and therefore understand lifestyle and hairstyle preferences of Singapore women better
- Communication is therefore less of a problem as the Japanese stylists have worked in Singapore for a number of years
- There is a Japanese-English translator working as a receptionist so you can approach her for translation if you are still concerned about communication
- Convenient to find parking close by
Not-So-Happy-With
- Not the cheapest hair salon out there
- Need to walk about 7-8 min from Tanjong Pagar MRT / Outram Park MRT / Telok Ayer MRT
Hajime is super friendly and attends to my needs!
Have been going to Hajime for my hair needs for a few years now. He is super easy going and always takes the opportunity to explain the “hair science” behind my damaged hair haha. He knows clearly what he can do and what he is unable to do with my hair just by looking (guess it comes with experience?). Although the price may fall short in comparison with local salons, but it is a sure-bet that you get the color without stressing about it!! And one good thing is, ahem they don’t hardsell (period). The other staff there, at first, may seem cold but actually they are really warm hearted too! (Review approved by Beauty Undercover)

Great service, clean and relaxing salon
Shobu provides excellent service. Very attentive and sensitive to my needs. And he does all of it, cutting washing and colouring so well. there’s no need to spend time waiting for someone else to attend to me. (Review not yet veriried)

Attentive and communicative stylist
Went to finder to bleach and dye my hair a light beige brown with purple gradient Hajime was very friendly and easy to talk to, and is always explaining what's going on and provides advice with regards to your hair The colour came out very pretty and the whole process was comfortable (although to be expected, sitting for 6 hours at a go is rather tiring no matter what) Would definitely recommend Hajime to anyone wanting to cut or colour their hair! Price is a little steep but I think it's worth considering if you have a specific colour/image in mind because the end result was exactly how I wanted it to be and I'm super happy with it (●´ω｀●)

Bringing your ideal hair to reality
I was really happy with everything. Before the start, Hajime-san took some time to clarify and discuss the colours I wanted to achieve. He did an amazing job with my hair and made sure I was comfortable throughout the session. He also understood the complexities of my hair and was able to give my advice on how I should care for it. My hair now feels so much better after following his advice on how to care for my hair. All these little things really value-adds to the experience. I will definitely be back again! Anime hair color! ?
The service here is really good! There's wifi, iPads for your entertainment and phone chargers you can use. Hajime san also gave me an Ayataka drink and brought a clothes hanger for me to hang my jacket! ? Hajime san was very friendly, we talked about anime throughout the day and he did a such wonderful job bringing my hair to life ? He also advised me on how to take care of my coloured hair, and how to style it as well. It was such a pleasant experience and I will definitely come back in the future, thank you so much for everything Hajime san! ?

Attentive and great service

Lovely underdye
Went to finally dye my hair funky colours, but still keep it work appropriate. Was attracted to a slightly galaxy look. Hajime did a great job and I was comfortable and relaxed throughout. My hair is also still buttery soft in spite of all the bleaching he had to do to lift my hair colour. I love my shorter more manageable hair length too

Love coming here! The stylist, Hajime, is very professional and friendly. He’ll talk through the process and during each step, will tell me about what he’s doing. Also good for conversation and likes to crack jokes and learn about customers. The salon itself is very clean and cozy, all the staff are very friendly.

Great experience!
I did a hair treatment and scalp treatment. It was highly relaxing and the treatment left my hair soft and manageable. Hajime was attentive and constantly checked on whether the treatment was going well. Thank you for the great service at the salon!

Great!
I really like that my stylist (Shobu) is the one who attend to me from start to finish. From colouring, washing, cutting, styling. Everything was done by the stylist of my choice. Unlike most salons whereby the stylist have to attend to other customers at the same time apart from me. Haircut and colour by Shobu is great!!! Shobu is really attentive to my request and explain to me why he decide to cut my hair in a certain way. Thank u!

Happy treatment!
Visited COVO again for NOV treatment on 20 Jun. It helps to smoothen out frizzy and dry hair ?. As well as restore my hair to original healthy state ✌?. Thanks KAZZ. Now it’s so much easier to style and manage hair. ?♀️
