Hair Plus Korean Salon @ Far East Plaza

I was really disappointed with the results. I had a medium short hair length and I needed advice on which hairstyle suits me the most hence I asked the senior hairdresser to choose for me. She tsk at me once and end up is me choosing for myself. This is my first time going to a korean salon for a hair cut and I really need someone who is confident to deal with my hair. After I choose a hairstyle I wanted, she just said ok then she chop off immediately to a short hair. I was shocked because normally professional hairdresser would slowly cut and ask if the length is ok for you. (You know sometimes those photos look damn good on the kpop stars but on you the length look like shit) End up my hair was freaking short and I felt so cheated. I will never go back every again. I paid 50 dollar for a haircut where I can just go those cheap hairsalon with the same standard! My family said it doesn't even look like korean haircut at all, lol what a joke.

I went for a c-curl last week and I love it. I have tried numerous of salons all over SG for perming, coloring, bleaching you name it and my visit to Hairplus is one of those very rare times which I am actually happy about the result. Money well spent!

The stylists are all Korean but they can communicate well in English. It’s a small salon but everyone is very friendly. I paid $230 for a c-curl and I really lovee it. I went to another Korean-inspired salon in Plaza Sin last year for a c-curl and I paid close to $400….why would you want to pay a premium to go to a Korean-INSPIRED salon when the stylists aren’t even Korean. Price is very reasonable compared with those other Korean salons in malls. Another thing I really like is they do not make you wait. Someone is always taking care of your hair and I finished my cut+treatment+perm within 2 hours! Hairplus is definitely my go-to salon from now on.

If you’re curious how my hair looks like, imagine the hair of Mo-Yeon from Descendants of the Sun *grin*

Staff are friendly. Environment is clean. Price is alright. Lisa did a good job in cutting.

What I think can be improved

The section where the perm is dry and rough. I asked Lisa why is it dry and she said my hair was dry in the first place and perming is dry. I went to Zinc Korean Salon for my perm previously and it is not dry.

Told them i would like to rebond from middle section and not from root but they ignored me. I told them at least 3 times.

Will I be back

Not coming back for perm. The overall look is there but my perm section is dry..
