Bad experience

my hair was not cut evenly and it was terrible. went to another salon to fix it, one portion of my hair was too short that it cannot be fixed and i need to slowly wait for it to grow longer. haircut was $4.90. conclusion: just spend more money at other salon to get a haircut so that you won't look in the mirror and regret why you even enter this salon.

Did not apologise

Yes, today 22/7/2015 at Woodlands Mrt, I was there having my hair cut. The hairdresser cut my fringe too short above my eyebrown. She did not apologise and said it is ok to her style. In the end I can't imagine arguing with her, and she have bad attitude. She said she is a professional but able to keep talking with her colleagues and cutting my hair, Is she right? No boss or leader was around to complain, everybody keep quiet and listen. I will not enter to this hair salon again although it cost $4.90 for haircut.

Fixing a disastrous haircut

About a month ago, I went to a barber located in Pioneer Mall for a haircut. I showed the Auntie a picture of my past haircut and wanted her to imitate it. In the end, it was disastrous and I was left with very little fringe and an egg-shaped hairdo. Recently, my sides and back grew longer while my bangs were beginning to recover from the past horror.

I went to the HI Salon branch at Boon Lay MRT to fix the Auntie’s mistake a month ago. I showed the same picture to a lady named Winnie and began to explain. I told Winnie that I have an egg-shaped head and hence to cut the sides with increasing length from bottom to top to hide it. Also, as I was unable to grow even the slightest of a side burn, I said to leave a little hair longer at the side to imitate a side burn. As the back of my head was flatter than normal, she recommended a lower slope.

Next, Winnie began to cut my hair and I started a conversation with her. She was very jovial and laughed along with me as I shared about my horrible haircut from Pioneer Mall.

In the end, I was extremely happy about the end result, which was better than what I had expected from a budget Salon. Finally, I was able to step out confidently out of my house.

Therefore, I highly recommend Winnie from the branch. She said that she works every day at the Boon Lay branch except on Wednesdays. No doubt, I will certainly return to have her as one of my main hairstylist.

Stick to the right stylist

Hello! Went to Boonlay outlet today to cut. Didn't catch the name of the male hairdresser. But very nice overall. My hair tangled all very gently untangle. Friendly make conversation all. Told him just want a trim. So he really trim as per my request. Fairly pleased la. Wash hair also massage good. Hahaha. I will find for him again the next time I want to trim. I think this salon got good got bad. You get a good one. Stick with the person. Then no need worry.

Can't even speak proper English

This happened in Bukit Batok Branch. I have numerous bad experiences with them. In my opinion, the staffs are not professional and really rude. They can't even speak proper English. The first time I went there to wash my hair, they persuaded me into buying a package of 10 times hair wash. As my hair was long and thick, I usually dread at the prospect of washing it myself, so I agreed and bought it. Once i bought it, on my subsequent visits to the saloon, they are no longer polite and sweet like when they were trying to sell me the package. However, i still had to stand their bad manners and keep going back as i have fully paid for 10 times.

On my 7th visit, the stylist asked me to trim my hair. I said "okay, fine, but not too short, just trim as i really love my hair and keeping it long" She didn't blow dry my hair first and cut while it was dripping wet and cut it into very thin layers that after drying, my hair volume was really gone! It was a nightmare!!! I suspect it was because my hair was getting longer and thicker than the first time i bought the package and they didn't want to put much shampoo and spend time blow drying, so their solution was to cut it thin and short! I wasn't really aware how much she cut it while she was cutting it as I was caught up in a conversation from work and then the hair was really wet , so i couldn't tell. I was so angry that I didn't ever go back to them and wasted 3 more times of hair wash!

Update: My stylist is BeBe!

Horrible Service

Hi, i just did my haircut at the branch at Causeway Point MRT. The service there was horrible and the auntie hairdresser is very rude. The worst thing was before she wanted to cut my fringe she needs to comb it but i dunno how on earth her comb will poke into my right eye!!! Yes the INSIDES OF MY RIGHT EYE!!! i wore contact lens at that time but my contact lens cost few hundred bucks so either way she was causing damage to me!! She didn't even apologise when i cried OUCH. She just continue like nothing is wrong. Her way or cutting and combing the fringe was super rough and unprofessional. Even though the whole haircut process lasted less than 5min, i can assure you i won't ever step inside the salon again regardless of the cheap price. Now i will rather go into a more expensive but good service salons.

Absolutely horrible service!

The salon at bukit gombak mrt is absolutely horrible! I had a similar bad experience with this particular auntie the last time round. However, i was rushing for time so i decided to give it a try again. This AUNTIE served me once again! No matter what haircut u want, she would simply brush it off as ridiculous and refused to cut what i requested. Although what i requested was simply slopes on both sides and trimming on top, i don see anything ridiculous about it. What come next was the worst, she Insisted that i need to get a hair wash to cut which is 10 bucks or i can simply go away. What kind of service is this! The branch at boon lay mrt is also of terrible services. They always insisted us to get a wash up simply because they say 4.90$ is too cheap and getting a wash up for a top up to 10 bucks is also cheap. IF that was the case, why not just adjust the price to 10 bucks for everyone and dont LIE to your customers its only 4.90! BAD BAD BAD SERVICE.

Really upset me!

I did rebonding in HI salon at Bukit Gombak mrt station. After rebonding, my hair drop big time. I went back to the shop to complain. The hair dresser was so defensive and said it's because I did not buy a scalp protection treatment to go together with the rebonding !!!

Really upset me!

Lousy service and attitude

I’ve experienced a bad service and the attitude of the stuff shown toward a customer like me.
Treating a customer who only pay for $3.9 hair cut like shit..
“It’s very hard for me just to earn your $3.9″ the auntie stuff said.
Hello.. auntie, I’m not do the hair cut for free. The auntie make my day become worse with the lousy service and attitude she given to me. I hope there will be something different when the next time I visit the branch again.
Value and respect your customers.

Regard
Your regular customer

So far so good

I went to hi salon at woodlands mrt twice. I think I was lucky to be served by this lady named wendy. Frm my observation it seems that she really take pride in her work. She didnt rush me or anything. When I went to the salon I will verify the price first. I did trimming for my hair ($3.90) and treatment ($35). They will wash first before proceeding to cut and whatnot. My hair turns out fine. She even style it for me despite me wearing a scarf (tudung). I'm pretty pleased with her service. I just went for the 2nd trearment yesterday, approx 1 and a halp mth aft my first treatment. I tried the mud mineral. Too early to comment but so far so good. :)

The haircut was horrendous

Went to H I Salon (Bt Gombak) for rebonding a week ago. Rebonding was okay but the haircut was HORRENDOUS! Went back for a recut but it got worse. The hairdresser used a SHAVER to cut the hair cuz she claims that it is straighter, but a random bunch of hair is now longer than the rest of my hair.

Update: 19 August 2013

With regards to my previous review that rebonding was okay, I would like to take back that statement. Barely 2 months after the rebonding, the inner hair are all CURVED. The standards of this salon are very questionable.

Bald hair

Told the guy: I just had a haircut, the side was not cut equally, can you just fix it, just a little bit to make it equal . He said "ok ok" and proceed to cut me a botak. If you don't understand just ask me to repeat **********. Don't just ok ok then anyhow cut. Its my hair, not yours, asshole. I don't need your help to lower my self esteem which already nonexist. Guess who is gonna be extra grumpy this month.

Bad customer service

Hi there. I would like to share some of my views here. I do not have any experience with Hi salon at bkt gombak outlet. But today while browsing through the net to look for some promotion for rebonding(which is for myself & my sister). I came across someone’s blog. I just click the link & scroll through.. he had a good experience for his haircut few months back there. Then i just took the number of hi salon in bkt gombak to ask for some enquiries. So when i called, a lady picked up & straightly say ”yes?” Then i said, ” hi gd afternoon, may i know if this is the hi salon at bkt gombak?” She answered yes. I asked her” i would like to ask how much do you do rebonding fr shoulder length?”
The lady said” if you want you come here. Other than the price all .. you can come here.”
I said” i just would like to check with you the price & check if i could make an appointment first.”
The lady answered rushing” oh for normal $38. For sheseido $58, loreal $88 k bye. ”

I just think the lady might be rushing because she is busy with her customer.
But firstly if we decide to work in retail/sales/customer service line. First impression is always important. Even if on the phone. The tone & the way you talk to customer. I am working in customer service line, i am quite fussy when asking abt the enquiries & make sure i ask in detail. So its the same how i treat my customers. Dont talk about being professional. But be polite & helpful to your customer.
Even if the price is cheap, when you give good service. I am sure customers will come back again & even can personally request you.
It doesnt matter malaysians or singaporeans. I notice most salons or shops always speak in mandarin or cantonese. Its ok to speak among your colleague if its to difficult for you. But its better to speak english with the customers though they know mandarin/chinese language. The purpose to know chinese language is to only applies to those whom cannot understand nor speak english.
Even if you have a fussy customer, serve them in a good way & respect. I always remind myself of my position & motto : providing customer with excellent service.

Treat others right the same as you want to. Quality is important than quantity of customer.
Tell me if i am wrong.

Cut too much hair

Went to h I salon at boon lay met station there for a haircut yesterday. I am so angry. I asked the person to cut 3inches for me and she Still double confirm with me. Then I reply yes. However I don’t think she even know what is 3inches.she cut 5inches and kept asking Should I cut more Should I cut more. Seriously if you don’t know them what for work as a hairstylist. She cut my hair till it reach my Chin level.I am already so angry and she asked me if she needto cut more.she Still ask me before that of u always tie my hair up. And I replied yes and she Still cut my hair until it cannot be tie. I urge the boss of the salon to look after your people and stop this kind of incident to happened again. And I will not go there to cut my hair anymore.

Cheap but the hair stylist are not well trained

Cheap but the hair stylist are not well trainned. They can't even give my son a good hair cut so uneven and can see numbers of holes. I definitely can cut better than them. I brought my son back for them to re-trim his hair and their atitude are terrible, never say sorry and want me to shut my mouth and said "we never say don't want to trim for you". This type of service really can spoil our Singapore's reputation. From their look and speech can tell that they are china's chinese. If you choose to have you hair cut their is at your own risk.

Bald patch exposed

I went for a hair-cut at 'Hi Salon' in Bukit Gombak station. When the price was very cheap, I had doubt the hair cutters were students; so I asked whether they were students when I enter inside. A lady at the counter told me there are no students. So, I decided to have a hair-cut. I'm a male with mild male patten baldness. So I told the lady who's about to cut my hair, to cut only minimum on my balding area. At first the lady trim little, then when I told her to trim in front little more, she cut overall especially my balding quite short, till I can't cover my bald patch and it was exposed. This was the first time someone cut my balding area so short in a way to expose my balding. This shows clearly the 'so called hair-cutters' there are not professionals. I classified it to be the worst hair-cutting place in Singapore. I'll never ever visit 'Hi Salon' or any cheap hair salons anymore. I advice all those who wants proper hair-cut done by professionals not to visit 'Hi Salon'.

Hi...Last fri i went to the Bukit Gombak outlet too...But just to enquire regarding the price stated outside the shop "$29.90" REBONDING... I felt weird went into the shop as NO ONE welcomed me...Not only that, when I approached a PRC for the enquiries,he cant ans me...Then I went to the lady...I was shocked to hear from her that, that price is not applicable for CNY season...Then I still insisted on the price... Wanna something? That price is only for FRINGE rebonding...I expected as much...As I was being cheated by HI Salon before located at Lakeside MRT... Same thing, saw the price, $49.90... But that time i trusted too much on them and dont bother to enquire it...End up it was $100... So ridiculous...I mean cant the management do something about it...
