Poor shocking service

Hi. Today 15 Feb ard 11am I went to Amk branch to cut hair. I was being attended by a chi lady with long hair and spec. Her attitude was bad and face black. Then she shaved my sides of my hair on left and right. Now got 2 botak spots. I ask her let ne see the mirror and was shock. I told her I can't Accept she panicked and ask for her manager. She never apologize and kept insisting it is my fault!!! Her manager came and continue to trim and shave??? I told him I can't accept my side hair on my face never ask cut so short and my back of my hair also??? Still insist I am at fault? If she dun know how to cut go home. Not happy to work go home! Dun vent her temper on my hair? She shave and cut my hair so short on purpose? She thinks I am a lesbian??? At the end het manager never charged me. It is not able payment it is the trust I have in them is not there! I signed up e package at amk. I will never go amk again!!! I demand an explanation and apology! (Review not yet verified)

Annoying

I've past by the Marine Parade branch and this lady (Chinese) was pestering me to enter the salon, I've said "NO" a lot of times while she listed their services/products for me to buy or try. I've read bad reviews of this place from this site. Worse, the branch number from Bedok area called me TWICE when i already rejected it once, ofcourse i did not answer the second time. I respect that it's part of their marketing technique to sell and make profit from us, but they should also note that they shouldn't force target customers to buy their service or products when they already have said no.

Awful experience

I went to this salon today, had a very not professionl hair cut and coloring. (Very 随便, just cut a bit here a bit there)Coloring my hair it took only less than 30 minutes , then asked me for hair wash . It cost me 49sgd for hair cut&coloring and its not worth at all. This is the first time and the last time i step into this salon .

Very negative feedback for New Station Beauty & Hair Salon (83 Marine Parade Central)

They claimed to be hair professional and insisted an expensive hair re-bonding recommendation. This re-bonding badly damaged my hair and lasted only a few days. My scalp became red, swollen and cracked after re-bonding. My hair became very dry and brittle and had to cut it. Throughout the hair re-bonding process, I was constantly pestered by the China manager, hair dresser and beautician to buy more hair services and facial treatments.

They insisted I stay behind and continue more hair services though I informed them I had not eaten my meal and urgently had matters to attend. The China manager at the cashier, insisted I pay for more unwanted hair treatments regardless of a very long queue waiting for him to finish talking. After I rejected all his offers, he showed an ugly attitude.

How can a hair salon NOT use a comb or hairbrush?

I walked in this afternoon at around 1pm. There was a lady in uniform opening the door for me and I asked her how much for hair wash. She looked at my hair and said $12. I was surprised it’s so cheap and stepped into the salon. The decor was decked in black.
The lady then clarified that if I want my hair to be blown dry and straightened it would be $15. I said no need to straighten, just normal blow dry will do.
I was then led to the wash basin and another lady washed my hair. Not as good as I expected coz I’ve been to many salons before and those old school types will really scrub your hair clean. I take heart that I am only paying $12 for this half-hearted attempt.
After the wash which took about 5 minutes, I was led to a chair and the lady who washed my hair said that if she use a comb, it will be $15. I’m like ???????
She said $12 is only 打干. If I want her to use the comb, it will be like straightening and it will be $15. At first I was taken aback and agreed coz I cannot imagine not using a comb to brush my hair. It would be a mess! The lady started to blow dry my hair and used her fingers to brush through it. I then told her this is my first time hearing such things and it shall be my last. The lady who opened the door for me earlier came and asked what was the matter. Then she explained to me that straightening may or may not use the comb. I told them don’t use the comb and I will see the result. I will pay $12 anyway. How can a hair salon NOT use a comb or hairbrush?? At that time the lady blowdrying my hair was still using her fingers to run through my hair.
Obviously after a while my hair was in a mess and the lady had no choice but to use a hairbrush. Immediately I said I will only pay $12.
Then after a few attempts to brush my hair I told her it was enough, paid $12 and left.

Update: I went to the outlet at Bedok Central

Stylist are more interested in hardselling

Went to one of their hair salons at Toa Payoh, the stylist who was from China was more interested in hardselling packages then actually cutting my hair. Super persistent even though you insist you are not interested in the package. After I bought a package, they still kept asking me to top up. I won't recommend friends to come here.

Does not have bare minimum courtesy

Today(5th July@1PM) I went to Ecoin.sg opposite to NTUC Fairprice for haircut. Haircut was good, but the lady at the Cash counter(old lady with Black dress) was very very bad.

She asked me for membership, I said I come very rarely and don’t want membership now. She started talking on her own language in front of me and suddenly started laughing so loudly. I asked her what so funny about it. She did not responded to me and keep on laughing very loudly. I felt very embarrassed. Infact it happened in front of all the other peoples in the Salon, they also felt bad about it.

I won’t recommend my friends/colleagues to go that salon again only because of that lady. She does not have bare minimum courtesy.

Update: The salon did not give me a receipt. After my hair cut, I gave $10 and the cashier/lady had refunded $5. I was in the Salon around 1pm - 1.30 pm.

Stressful experience

Went to the marine parade Ecoin branch for a haircut, and the hairstylist (a malaysian lady) noted that i was perspiring from the heat and used the observation to her advantage to 'persuade' me that this may clog up the hair follicles over time. I must say she did a convincing job as I actually gave her the benefit of the doubt; only bad thing was that she spent the lions share of time to 'educate' me that caring for the hair starts from a young age and somehow the haircut turned out to be below my expectations. She even showed me a blown up image of my scalp and i thought hey, there might be some truth in what they are preaching. So i thought to myself, maybe I could try one of their EP treatment and see if its any good. No pressure right?

The treatment took 40 min and even though it was not bad, the price was very steep (usual at S$298, 1st time trial S$197 if i rem correctly). The lady tried to sell me a bundled deal of 30 sessions (wtf, like over S$5k) but i just wormed myself out of it. I thought to myself that's it as I go to the counter for payment. Then comes the next level of hardsell by the branch manager, a male prc who keep reducing the price and number of sessions to make me take up the package. Of course I didn't agree, his face turned blacker by the minute as I remained firm.

All in all, although the EP treatment was ok, the price was too steep and I was super turned off by their hardselling tactics; it made the whole experience of stepping into the salon a stressful one, so I told myself to not go there again.

Update: Shirley attended to me.

They can hardsell whatever they want

I regretted very much. I was 1st drawn in by the very cheap hair-cut price, then told to take up a 10 session package. I gave the manager my credit card, she swiped the amount then suddenly persuaded me to top up more session, saying will give me more discount! I haven't say yes and she swiped my card again!!

Besides the scalp treatment which i took up, they still wanna sell another package to me, the scalp detox package, it's just using an eletrical stick to run through yr hair for about 5 min after my scalp treatment. Like that wanna charge an additional $76 on top of my scalp treatment, which is alrdy $120++!!!

I went online to check the electrical stick that they're using and found out it cost just abt S$20+. Really CHOP CARROT SHOP!

Now, everytime i go inside the shop, i make sure i leave my credit card, bank card etc in my car. They can hardsell whatever they want, i just am cardless and cashless with me.

After my package is done with, i'll just say bye bye! The direction of this salon is totally wrong! They are more interested in selling packages than focus on what they should be doing as hair stylists. I'm really surprised that they could open up so many branches. With the wrong directions, they couldn't hold long.....i read in wanbao that New Station got alot of complaints lodged against them through CASE.

Paper card membership

I went for a hair dye at Marine Parade salon and was pestered to sign up a membership. I told them I don't have so much money with me at the moment and I was told I can pay part payment first and pay up the rest later and I can enjoy going to any of their branches with the membership card after completing my payment. After making full payment I was given a paper card with the amount on it. I tried going to other salon and was told I can not use the card as it has no value in it and was told that I should be given a plastic card with the balance amount of money in it. I went back to Marine Parade and ask the manager about this and was told that because I did not make full payment the first time therefore I am not entitled to a plastic card.

Money-oriented salon

I went to Clementi branch last night 7:00++pm to refill the coloring & to curly hair. I told them if time not enough for curly I can go next day morning. But they won't allow & No. 13 do it for me. But the coloring quality is extremely bad. Only outer part is effected n the inner part are not balanced with my original color & still black in many parts (I just found out when I reach home). Coz I got no chance to check after he refilled my color. When I check my hair in front, he even complained me that I m not trust & can let my mom (who come along) check step by step of my hair. How rude was that? And he didn't even show me mirror for behind part. Since it's late n he rush to his personal phone call n gotta send me out... Impatiently! If cannot service properly lately then don't take customer money & rush out with unqualified result!!! When I asked him whether I could go n look for him if anything wrong, he even replied me with angry face, what I should look for again!!!! Extremely bad service n only one of money-oriented shops!!!

First & Last walk in to New Station.

Dishonest

Was at AMK central branch a few weeks back when my husband wanna cut his hair. Was greeted by a girl giving flyer saying $5 for hair cut. My husband asked how much for hair + wash, she said $10. So we went in.

Halfway, my hub ask confirm $10 right, the stylist was shocked and said it's $12. $2 is a small amount but I was very unhappy, I said that the lady giving out flyer said it's $10. Senior stylist who was blow drying a lady manager's hair then told me very rudely that $12 is for non-member. If want $10 join their member. Again, I told them politely I wasn't told that we need to be member for $10 wash and cut. Senior stylist snap back and me and said "NOW I TELL YOU LAH!"

I was very angry and my husband said forget it, just $2. Sorry, New Station, you had provoked the wrong woman. I went to find the lady boss, how much is member hair cut? She said $2, non member $5. I told her, do you think it's funny to quote non-member rate for cut and member rate for cut & wash when we asked the flyer girl outside your shop? You think everyone in the whole AMK central is your member? It's not the $2, it's dishonest. You might as well say $50 since we already cut halfway. Treat us like carrot to chop.

Lady boss try to argue but gave up as I was very persistent and she said ok, this time give us 1st trial $10.

When my husband made payment, she asked if he wants to join member and I answered NO. She said is it I still buay song (unhappy), I told her, YES I AM. and we walked off

Learn to say "No"

I hv been to their different outlets (Clementi, Jurong East, Jurong West) for the $2 simple hair cuts, numerous times. At such low price, I don't demand for any customer service. Just cut and go.

I did encounter untrained hairdressers giving me bad hair cut, which I stop them immediately when I spotted something wrong. For $2, definitely there is risk involved. Just be ready for it.

Importantly, we have to understand that there is no free meal and cost of business is high in Spore. For $2, I don't think they make any money. So I expect they will sell their products and other services.

I bought their membership for the past 3 yrs purely for the hair cut. I don't need other services, so I just rejected their proposals in simple words. We all just have to learn to say "No". Their job is also to push sale and there is nothing wrong with it. But if they get too pushy, just end the conversation. Don't have to feel shy or embarrassed. Your money is in your wallet, if you doesn't want to buy anything, no one can force you to pay for it.

Take it as another life experience. Cheers :)

DISAPPOINTED AND PISSED!

I went for a Rebonding treatment today at the Ang Mo Kio Branch, newly opened branch I think. Since the moment we approached the staff a few days back, they already kept telling us to put a deposit or even pay full for the rebonding. Then, when I went today and sat down peacefully, I was rather happy that nobody hardsold anything to me. Probably because I am a student? Then through my rebonding, one staff told me to get a treatment for an additional $30. I thought okay, not that bad and she told me if I came back another day it would not be as effective. Who knew? Suddenly, when I completed the whole course of treatment and went to the counter to pay, a woman( lets call her woman A) suddenly took out a paper and a VIP like card, telling me that if I paid abit more I would get the VIP Card which has originally $100 in it and I could deduct it from my total cost of rebonding and treatment. The amount I had to top up at first was seriously ridiculous. It was $335! Then I told them that my card's limit was $200, and they told me to just spend that $200. Then, Woman B just came and took my card and swiped it and I thought I was going to pay $165 which was the total cost of my treatments and spendings at the salon for the products. Turned out, Woman B keyed in $200 without my knowledge and told me to go on and kept telling me to punch in my pin numbers. Meanwhile, Woman A and two other staff kept persuading and telling me to buy the card and to put in a deposit first, then I could come back another day to pay the amount in full and get the card. Woman B didn't even ask for my permission before keying in the $200 amount and if I did not take notice, I would have paid the $200 and have no money left to use for the day. Can I consider this cheating? Like seriously, imagine the amount of stress I am put under alone by the constant hard-selling of 4 people in the environment. I AM A STUDENT FOR GOD'S SAKE. DO THEY NOT HAVE ANY MERCY AND ANY HEART AT ALL? I have to eat and buy necessities like dinner besides buying your ridiculously expensive card! Does it even make any sense that you are actually digging money like that from a student? I am spending my parents' money. Sure, I don't know how hard it is to earn money yet. But i do know that they are unreasonable groups of people that are inhumanely asking for people to sign expensive packages from people. Seriously to anyone who is reading this, deal with this hair salon at your own risk.

Stylist laughed and screamed at me

Hello girls and guys! I'm so so so stressed after coming to new station near Parkway P just right in front bus stop.

U came just simply to cut my french and show up the pictures sample how I would like it to cut.

The hair dresser said -yeah, OK.. no problem. (Chinese girl with purple hair). She cut me wrongly but I was trying to solve the problem to help her but she could not understand me then another girl came and said OK, I will do it for you.. and she cut me appointment short that now I can't even clip it!!!

To make the story shortly, they didn't gave me number of director or manager.. that girl that cut my french she went out were laughing with her colleague openly about what she did.

After they could not do much, I went out and that girl was laughing and I could not believe that people can be so rude and mean!! Then she screaming told me don't came back again! If you want to go there please think twice!

I was stressed to buy a very expensive Scalp treatment package yesterday. And when I got home last night, I can't sleep because I seriously feel like I was forced to buy the package.

So I logged onto CASE's website at 3a.m. and make a online complaint for refund.

Every time I come to the Bendemeer outlet for hair treatment (paid by my mum), they will introduce me a new package by hard selling. Their packages are so expensive! Come on, I'm only a student. I continued coming here cos I’ve got a package with them. I can get cheaper packages else where actually. Felt so cheated!

Disappointed with their attitude

He start to push to other guy to do my hair cut. And worst the other guy also no willing to cut my hairs. I suppose they not willing to do a job just cost $1. I v disappointed with their attitude.

Poor place for hairstyling services

Really poor place to get your hairstyling services. Initially signed up for the haircut membership few months back at Bedok branch, and they tried to fool me into "renewing" that membership (which was hardcopy in the form of a card) into an electronic version. Which I regrettably paid the extra $10 for, only later realising what a big mistake it was. They were very insistent on my renewal, making comparisons to other salons and claiming that even with the renewal I would still have cost savings in the long run. With the existing membershp, fees were $1. With the new membership, haircuts were $2. How is that cost savings? I tried to get a refund after, but obviously could not. Without going onto the point of racial stereotypes, New Station offers an incredible zero in ethics and hardly better in style. New Station, Old Tricks.

Okay haircut but bad service

Experienced the same thing as all these commenters here. They tried to hardsell me their scalp treatment products. I relented and bought a $20 deposit instead of just paying for $4 haircut, which I regret. The lady boss called Emmy even kept saying in Chinese, very rudely, "Give me 10 more dollars!" since I had passed her a $10 for change but she wanted the deposit.Fully do not recommend this place. From my experience, it is a terrible salon and they don't want to let you leave unless you buy something from them.I'm a young non-working student but they still tried to cheat me of my money. No ethics.

Update: my haircut was okay. Was more displeased with service attitude.

Regretted signing up for the package

i also had very bad experiences at the bendemeer branch. the first time i went the hairstylist assigned to me was good and when they pushed me to sign up for the package which i get S$300 extra of service. agreed but subsequently, the service became lousy especially the PRC hairstylists. They really sucks. Not are they unprofessional and unskillf, they also use the more expensive products which I did not agree. I tried to argue with they but it was pointless. I regretted signing up for the package very much.
