One of the best haircuts in my life!

One of the best haircuts in my life! I walked in to Shunji Matsuo at Ngee Ann City on a weekday afternoon looking for a quick haircut on my day off. The staff at the reception were friendly and efficient, assigning me to my stylists as soon as possible. My stylist was Jun, an international director. I was looking to transform my hair from a choppy, damaged mess after years of layering to a trendy long bob, and that's exactly what I got! It definitely helped that I brought a picture to prevent my request from getting lost in translation Jun was very helpful, offering advice on maintenance and styling throughout. My hair was mid-way through being blown dry and I could already see the beautiful results! I'm so happy and will definitely be back for other services!

Ugly haircut and poor customer service

Ever had the experience of going to a hair salon and telling your hairstylist to only give you a trim and not to have your hair cut too short, but he/she ended up doing JUST that?
Well, if you want this, go to Shunji Matsuo at Ngee Ann City. Its director hairstylist will assure that he cuts your hair too short despite telling him not to.
You will also probably not be able to feedback to him because he understands close to 0 English.

Upon providing feedback to the management, got scolded back instead. Apparently, customers are not allowed to complain because you will receive nothing but rude replies from the PR personnel.
Waited in line and paid so much for an ugly haircut and poor customer service.

Makes me feel safer in the stylist hands

Chanced upon a promotion coupon while i was searching for the right salon to colour my hair…

Priced at $150 @ Shunji Matsuo was a great deal~

I had a hard time searching for the salon as the address states Podium B instead of Tower B, hence the going up and down on the lifts at different sides…

For those who are considering on going, the correct lift is the one next to coffee bean~!

I rmb it was Evonne the receptionist who served me at the counter… She’s erm..very busy.

Constantly on the phone and talking to some magazine salesman. She asked me questions and just left me there to wait…

although i didn’t wait long before her colleague highlight my existence to her AGAIN~

I was showed to a seat in the salon shortly after she decides FANNIE will be my stylist.

Then changed seat again cause Evonne thinks that seat was too cold for me… -_-|||

Color selection was fast, as Fannie was quick to choose a color for me.

However, Fannie thought i am still schooling hence she chose a lighter color for me.

But the color turn out to be lighter than i expect it to be >_<||

Fannie was very gentle to my hair, and is extremely friendly. She’s pretty too~

somehow making me feel safer in her hands…

She cut and trim the dry ends of my hair, and gave me advices on how to maintain my long but neglected hair…LOL!

After Coloring, another girl took me to wash my hair.

Massage was good, and whatever is applied to your hair is explained beforehand…hehez…

Then Treatment was great too~

As im lying down all the time, i couldn’t see what was done to my hair during the treatment,

except smoke that was constantly around me with a nice smell… not chao tar smell…

They leave me lying for 15 mins before i was allowed to leave the treatment area. I had fun watching the smoke~ HAHAAHA!

Drying and all was as normal, except that i saw Fannie coming with her curling tongs~!!!

She thinks i look better with curls, and would look less kiddish…

And So…end product:

TADAH!!!

and then i dun wanna waste the curls~~~ So i camwhored to my hearts content!

despite the weird looks ppl have been giving me~~HAAHAHA!

Seriously considering permanent perm but i know the effects would be different…

It starting look a lot straighter after the perm

After O levels, I actually wanted to get a perm but decided against it since school started in january.
I told myself that i would go for one after ib. However, while i did like the perm I had for prom I didn’t especially love it and the perms disappeared just a few hours after I got them. All these things made me unsure about getting a permanent perm.

Recently I’ve been wanting to change things up with my hair, and though for a while i considered dyeing it, i eventually settled on perming it again.
I booked an appointment at the new shunji matsuo branch at ngee ann city. Initially, I was going to get a digital perm but my hair stylist (Dave) recommended a steam perm for me upon hearing that I wanted something that looks natural. A steam perm is also healthier for the hair as it doesn’t dry it out. A digital perm does last longer than a steam perm though.

Unfortunately, once we got started they realised how stubborn my hair is. I lost count of the number of times they had to squeeze lotion over my hair and carry out the heating process. I’m thankful that they tried so many times to make sure the process was done right, eventually they either thought it was ready or they decided to give up and move on (after a few hours). Finally after over 5 hours, I was shown the result of their work. At first, I was neutral about it but now I’ve fallen in love with the perm! I think it’s not going to stay curly for long though, because it already looks a lot straighter than it was at the salon.

I’ll see how it looks in a few days. If it goes back to being straight his assistant said i might be able to go back and get a digital perm instead. (:
