Love the ambience and professionalism of the staff

Service counter was too eager to close shop and asked for payment BEFORE the my wife's treatment. Stylist can't even communicate in Simple English...

I had a good free consultation with Stylist A on 4 Nov n I liked what she recommended, so I proceeded to book an appt with her a week later. I purposely took leave n set aside time for the appt n on the day itself, took a cab. When i arrived, the receptionist told me “oh, the stylist whom u made appt with is on medical leave so we assigned u another stylist.” I was shocked cos obviously, at the price I am paying, I would want to get the stylist I had made appt with, n I felt I was very discourteous that the receptionist did not bother to WhatsApp me that morning to inform me of the change in stylist n at least to ask me if I wish to go ahead. She could have used the same WhatsApp as she had used to communicate confirmation of the appt with me just a day before. Anyhow, as I had gone all the way there, I decided to give the other stylist a try. I had to repeat what I wanted all over again, n showed some pictures. To my horror, the stylist’s recommendation was in contradiction to what the original stylist had given. I was confused. I have nothing against the stylist but it was more the disappointment of not having the original stylist plus the contradiction in recommendations between the two stylists that made me decide to walk out. After all, I had liked what the original stylist had recommended , which was what I had booked the appt in the first place. Both my experience at this salon n at Lee Ka Ja Salon, both under the same boss, made me realise that many of us are suckers n fall prey to social media. Both these salons are seriously over-rated. Do yrselves a favour, save your money n don’t go to these two salons. They give me the impression that they don’t really care about their customers; it’s your money they want

5 stars for great customer service and attitude from reception to hair stylist. However, 2.5 stars for haircut technique. IMHO the haircut was a little average and sloppy for S$60... Came hoping for a quality haircut but left feeling less confident... Review not yet verified

My experience with the salon services made me question the validity of the Google Reviews. Let the facts speak for themselves. The "8 day promise" is just a marketing gimmick. With so much influencer marketing going on, I hope this gives the truth of it all, I booked for a haircut ($40) and single colour hair dye ($230). Zac did a good job with the cut. I wanted to go for a Korean curtain bangs look and he was able to advice me on that. Nicole took over for the hair dye. I wanted a simple medium brown appropriate for work. Nicole said as my hair had red undertones, I can only do shades of red. My hair was close to black then. She did not show me any colour templates to choose from like how normal salons would, only a picture of the red colour she has chosen on her phone. She said it will wash out to brown. Since this salon has so many good reviews, i trusted her since i do not have any other options. When the dye was done, it was very red. It was flaming under the sun. Then Zac came over to style my hair. He was like "i thought you didnt want red?" I told him what happened and he said it was possible to do other colours, just take more effort. I voiced out my displeasure during payment and the girl asked me to write a Google review(of which i am doing now). I contacted their customer service about their 8 day promise on the same day. It was a waste of time. They insisted that Nicole did a good job on the hair dye and Zac did not say the conflicting comment. Shouldn't the customer be the judge of satisfaction? Why would i risk certain damage to my hair by asking for a redye if it was a good job? I proceeded to get my hair redyed at another salon the following week.

It was my first time visiting WOS, and i wouldn’t recommend it. I am someone that doesn't know much about hair - I don’t style my hair or spend a lot of effort on my hair because i have always had decent haircuts and colours for which styling wasn’t necessary. At WOS, i received some recommendations and trusted the stylist with a cut and colour. I showed her a picture but walked out with a haircut looking nothing like it. The worst part was that my bill came close to $500 for just a cut and colour. I definitely regret the whole experience. The haircut turned out choppy, the hair colour turned out very warm toned and the highlights turned out yellow even though i asked for an ash brown colour. All my worst fears about haircuts came true. When i went home i cried for a long time because the most expensive haircut of my life made me look 10 years older. The ambience and service was nothing special compared to other salons. The hair assistant kept asking me questions clearly to force small talk but didn’t continue the conversation when i answered her - it just made me feel really uncomfortable. I’ve been to many salons and am fine with chatting, but i have never felt so uncomfortable before. I don’t blame the salon entirely, i think i placed too much trust in the stylist and I should have explained what i wanted more clearly. I trusted the endless glowing reviews and the experience they boasted. I should have been more conservative and more cautious, especially about the price. In hindsight, i realise i didn’t ask for highlights but was given them anyway. The bill came to me during the service so it was too late for me to back out. If you are planning to visit WOS for the first time, i advise you not to stay alert when asking for recommendations and definitely ask for the total cost in advance. I omitted the name of the stylist because the purpose of this review isn’t to insult their skill. I am confident they are experienced and accomplished. I am just sharing my personal experience and opinions for anyone considering WOS for the first time.

It was my first visit to WOS and was quite impressed with the service by the reception and Nicole, the stylist that I chose after browsing through her hair works on IG. I must say that I am pretty much satisfied with my cold perm short hair till now while I am still trying to get used to it. HA! Hair colour choice was awesome too! Would definitely be back again.

I had haircut and I like the result. The stylist Zac was nice and he take good care of my hair. Very profesional all in all. I like the ambience, so relaxing. After doing the service I went directly to their cafe to have lunch. I’m very satisfied with the food. I’ll definitely come back again. Thank you so much!

Lanny is a very experience senior hair stylist whom is able to give very goos advice on hair care, creative with different types of hair styles, colours, in trend techniques on hair styling. It is also a great plus point when he is also good with kids. My 5 year old has been joining me as his customer and looks forward to every visit !

Was recommended by a friend who helped to make an appointment with Shinji. Do not be fooled by his profile photo which seems stern. He is extremely friendly and professional. Takes time to understand my requirements, and to assess my hair. The haircut is one of the best that I've had, and their service is impeccable. Whenever I walk back to my seat after having had my hair rinsed, Shinji is right there waiting for me ! Amazing ! In short, had a lovely experience there with a freebie manicure thrown in. Thanks.

Writing this review 2 weeks after my visit for hair colouring. Cherry was informative & guided me through the entire process She explained how things would work from bleaching, dyeing & treatment. Apple helped out at various stages and she was really warm & welcoming. Both Cherry and Apple made the 3 hour process very comfortable, truly thankful for the staff who stayed behind when it was past the closing time. Didn't manage to get the initial picture but the violet tone to my hair still remains. Overall, great experience & would definitely return again.

After having the same stylist for at least the last 6 years, I was a little apprehensive to try a new salon. But nick was amazing !! I felt so pampered here! Completely satisfied with the Colour. Thank you, Nick. I love my hair colour and I will be definitely coming back!

Shinji was excellent, very skilled in massage. I left feeling so relaxed and my hair is soft and shiny. He was careful to assess which treatment was best for my scalp and it was great! Will definitely return to Shinji. I was able to use a voucher which helped too.

I have been here twice at the salon to do my hair and i absolutely love the end result both times. I did creative colour both times. My hair stylist Zophia knew what she was doing and did an amazing job with my hair. The colour turned out great. Would definitely come back again for more :) Thank you Zophia

After a scary and horrifying experience in a Korean Hair Salon which I have reviewed about, I decided to try and overcome my fear on this and gave another Korean Hair Salon a try. Had the courage to make an appointment on this and went to Walking On Sunshine. Overall experience, it was VERY VERY GOOD!!! 10X BETTER than the previous Korean Hair Salon I have visited. Most importantly, NO Hard-Selling tactics and also fixed price rather than anyhow charging. My hairstylist is Leonard, very friendly and nice guy. :) [had a lot of good interesting conversations during the services, no boring topics :D] I told him roughly what type of hair colour design I would like and he was able to recommend me the perfect colour for everyday and even work-friendly!!! :D He also suggest what treatment would suit my current hair conditions and also offer tips and advices on how to take care of my current hair design and scalp condition. Thank you very much on saving my hair and for the wonderful hair service experience. :D Will definitely visit again for more exciting new hair adventures. :D Overall, I enjoy it alot and staff there are all very friendly. Finally overcome my fear on Korean Hair Salon, [So happy and satisfying :) ]. I will definitely recommend people to give Walking on Sunshine a try! :D

The environment of the saloon is relaxing with plenty of flowers and plants. My stylist is Leonard. He is friendly, young and capable. I am having serious hair fall. He suggested me to do scalp treatment and guided me on how to reduce my hair fall problem. Highly recommend Leonard!

Went for rebonding and was not pleased with the outcome. However I was so pleased with the service and high standards of professionalism. Kudos to Gene who patiently fixed my hair with great care and my hair is looking great now. He has put in great effort to understand what went wrong and did his best to fix my hair and went the extra miles to do so. I’m so impressed with his professionalism and also customer service. Also big thanks to Prince who was patient in following up every step of the way & not give up on me. He’d painfully arrange a session despite my busy Schedule so I could get the best care and attention from my hairdresser. He comes to check on how I’m doing many times when I’m at the salon to make sure all is well. I have never come across any salons who’d take such measures to care for their customers so professionally. Well done Walking On Sunshine!

My second time cutting at walking on sunshine. Tried many salons but not able to get the desired cut. Catherine did a wonderful job , my wife And I were very happy. She also recommended the sea salt spray and the wax to help on the styling. Happy to come here every month to cut my hair :)

My first experience with them wasn’t so good but I appreciate their professionalism in getting back to me immediately and offering me another go at their services. Prince called me personally to fix what had been done, and assisted from start to finish, even after my visit. This time I was treated by Shinji. I say ‘treated’ because it was really a treat to be serviced by him. He was 100% involved from beginning and informed on every single step he took. I had chosen ‘Head Scalp Spa treatment’ and he started with checking my scalp and suggesting the course of action. Once it was decided, he offered me choice of the serums he had to ensure I was comfortable with the fragrance of what I chose( I am 8months pregnant so smell is quite a big factor). Throughout the treatment, both he and Prince regularly checked on me if I was doing ok. When I did feel a bit uncomfortable, they were quick to adjust as per my needs. Overall, I was quite impressed with the entire experience and was charmed by their professionalism in handling a cranky customer. Will definitely visit them again and refer my friends too.

My previous experiences with WOS were great but this time, the haircut was just not up to standard. The hairstylist seemed like she was in a rush the entire time. When I showed her the picture of the haircut I wanted, she said okay. However, not only did the haircut end up entirely different from the photo, with people commented that the haircut made me look much older, I realized after I went home that my hair was of different lengths (see picture). I am sad and disappointed because had a previous haircut with the same stylist, and the experience was good. This time, I felt like she was just rushing through the haircut, to get the job done, not really listening to what I wanted (she went on and on about me needing highlights) and not caring enough to check the hair length.

Had my hair permed and trimmed by Sophia. She was very nice to ask me if i would like to trim my hair because my ends were splitting and dying. She was careful and meticulous in handling my hairdo. She also gave me tips to maintain my curls if I was lazy and didn't want to blow dry my hair. Overall, I really can't find any fault with them at all. If there is really a cons, that would be the price. But I guess this depends on how far you go for a haircut/hairdo.

I totally recommend this salon! Not only it’s beautifully arranged but also, and what’s the most important, everybody is very professional and super nice. My stylist was Gene and he managed to change my 4-coloured hair into something I can be proud about now! I’ll definitely go back there!
