Ever wondered when the right time is for you to head back to the salon?
Maybe you're just realizing your last haircut is slowly losing its shape, or maybe you’re wondering why the color is fading fast. These are some scenarios that might occur after some time from your visit to the salon. So in an effort to avoid this, I am here to provide you with a list of hairstyles accompanied by an estimated time frame of how long they will last before you are required to go back for your next service.
After all, picking the right hairstyle could potentially saves you a little extra when you know you won’t need to head back for a hair fix quite as often.
A professional men's haircut from a good stylist can last you about 6 weeks, that's if your hair doesn't grows at a normal rate. It may look a little long at the end of 6 weeks but it will grow out in such a manner that your haircut still looks professional.
Fade Haircut by Gene by Ginrich @ Wisma Atria
The fade haircut is somewhat visually similar to the modern pompadour. The sides are buzzed off and you can even request for it to be shaved off in a particular pattern. The top hair, though kept long, is not as long as it would be if you were to ask for the pompadour hairstyle.
If you’re like me and prefer to keep your fade cut short and polished, this haircut will last about 2 weeks. However, you wouldn’t need to revisit the salon till about 6 weeks later if you’re not fussed about growing it out a bit.
One of the hottest men’s hairstyle to hit the hair scene is the pompadour. Its chic, suave look can turn up the hotness factor for just about any man. There are two variations to the pompadour – the classic pompadour, where the sides are not clipped too short as opposed to modern pompadour. Since the modern pompadour involves shaving the sides and back of the hair very short, regular trimming is necessary. A pompadour can last approximately 4 - 6 weeks. However, do keep in mind that this hairstyle requires daily styling to avoid looking like you just woke up.

If you have natural curls, you may not need to perm to achieve the same effect. You do however, have to cut every 4 weeks to prevent yourself from getting that messy look!
Spiky haircuts need to be short to allow for waxing and styling. Do note that it is more suitable for men with coarse hair texture as it tends to hold the style better.
Unfortunately, the growing out stage doesn't make for a very flattering look as it's likely to look messy and unkempt. Hence, regular visits to the salon every 4 weeks or so is advisable to maintain a spiky haircut.
Normal hair colours (reds and shades of browns that do not require bleaching or only minimal bleaching) can last up to 4- 6 weeks. Don’t skimp on after-care and run the risk of wasting your money when your colour fades fast. It’s recommended to use colour protecting shampoos and colour treatments to ensure that the colours last long.
Hair tattoos undoubtedly add that extra edge to your hairstyle. You should however, be prepared to go for frequent trimming (more so than a regular haircut) for maintenance of that style.

Don't expect vibrant hair colours to last longer than a week or so. It only takes a few washes for such colours to lose their vibrancy and turn to ashy or pastel hues. However, washing your hair on alternate days and use colour protecting shampoos can prolong the lifespan of vibrant colours to at least 2 weeks.
