The Sleek Low-Damage Paimore GRATS C Curl Rebonding Makeover Made Agent I More Confident

Published on Oct 16, 2018

Hello, I'm Agent I, a receptionist at Hair Tokyo Michaela Salon. I actually got several job offers from different places but decided upon Hair Tokyo Michaela Salon because I wanted to be a part of a team who gives amazing service to people. Prices are higher here, like most Japanese salons but the stylists here are very attentive and make sure that everything is done well from start to finish. Seeing customers leave the salons with satisfied smiles make me really happy as well. Of course, one additional perk of working here is that I get to be their hair model sometimes.

You see, I have VERY CURLY Hair.

It may look relatively okay from the front

but from the side and the back, it just looks super messy.

Not my favourite look, obviously.

I've been meaning to do something about it - rebonding but am worried that it will turn out too straight and flat. However, when Hair Salon Tokyo Michaela started using Paimore GRATS, I was intrigued. It is apparently the newest low-damage rebonding lotion out there that repairs the hair and makes it smoother even after rebonding  Given that my hair is very dry, I think I absolutely need that.

After many times of trying on various hair models, salon manager Kenta asked if I was keen to trial the Paimore GRATS Rebonding. He promised that he will straighten my curls but still give it some volume to make it look absolutely natural. As I was eyeing the new service for sometime, I was thrilled to try it!

Could I possibly have a new look for Christmas 2018?

We arranged for the rebonding on a weekday morning.

I may be a staff but Kenta treated me like I was a customer, engaging in an indepth consultation before we began.

He asked me about my preferred length and preferred style and promised that he will do his best to help me look the way I wanted.

But first, a hair wash.

Did you know that they have this super amazing chair that reclines automatically to get you in the right position for washing?

That was definitely one of the coolest thing I liked about Hair Salon Tokyo Michaela.

Once in position, the Japanese hair assistant covered my eyes with a towel so that my eyes don't feel uncomfortable.

Love that they take care of every single detail!

To cushion my hair against any damage during the rebonding later on, Kenta actually instructed the assistant to apply Tokio Inkarami treatment to protect it before the service.

Really appreciate the gesture!

If you're wondering what the smoke is all about, it is actually nanomist.

Nanomist helps the treatment penetrate the hair deeper!

After application of the treatment, my hair was left for about 5 minutes while the treatment and nanomist seeps into my hair.

Back at the seat, Kenta began trimming my hair ends and cutting the hair in such a way that will bring out the rebonding more naturally.

Very honoured to have the skillful and good-looking stylist taking such good care of my hair!

He also applied Tokio inkarami Number 1 once again before we began the rebonding process proper.

Application of Rebonding Lotion

With the help of his assistant, Kenta began applying the rebonding lotion.

They made sure that the rebonding cream is applied on every part of the hair to ensure consistent processing.

They used different strengths of rebonding cream on different parts of the hair, depending on damage.

To accelerate absorption, they covered my hair with a plastic wrap

And heated it for about 15 minutes.

15 minutes later, it is time to wash off the rebonding cream.

Don't you think my hair look a lot straighter now?

Thats obviously not the end of my rebonding.

Ironing my hair straight

With my existing hair bonds broken, they are now re-creating the new straighter hair for me by ironing the hair.

They didn't just use a straightener; they also used a hairdryer at the same time!

Kenta also gave it a little curl at the end so that I have a stylish C curl rather than those stick straight rebonding we see years ago.

I have a lot of hair so it took both of them quite a bit of time.

It isn't enough to just use the straightener for the final curl.

To make the curl last longer, they used a small roller to fix the curl at the ends.

Love the bright yellow machine. Kenta says that this machine is very expensive but very good.

It heats up the C curls at temperatures that are lower than usual so that the curls can be created without much damage.

Application of Neutralizer

Our final major step of the day is to apply the neutralizer.

The assistant escorted me to the hair wash area again to apply the neutralizer from the roots to the ends.

Kenta prefers it done this way because the end result appears to be more natural.

Overall Thoughts

Sometimes, you never know how much invisible stress you were facing previously until they are magically lifted from you.

That's what I felt after this C Curl rebonding. I didn't exactly love styling and facing my curly hair every day. No matter what people say about how lovely the curls were, I just didn't feel the same way. On the other hand, I was worried about how I would look with straight hair, which was why I held out on rebonding for so long.

This experience however gave me a revelation...

WOW, my hair could actually be SO manageable and pretty even when it's straight!

Hence, I'm really really grateful to Kenta and Hair Salon Tokyo Michaela for such a beautiful work done on my hair.

Despite rebonding, my hair remains soft and healthy. Kenta also averted my greatest fear: loss of volume. Despite straightening, my hair still had quite a bit of volume that framed my face nicely without looking messy. Instead, my hair now has a sleekness and polish that I didn't use to have before... and this inevitably boosted my confidence somewhat.

I can lift my head high and not be afraid that people are looking at my messy hair.

Thank you once again to Hair Salon Tokyo Michaela
