There are many salons that say that they are Korean but how many actually have a number of Korean hairstylists who come from top Korean hair salons?
At Pro Trim Korean Hair Salon., we're happy to uncover 4: Chris (Manager), 1 June, Yuna and Elly.
They aren't just Korean, Chris and 1 June have actually cut and styled hair for celebrities in Korea. Chris doesn't talk much and can look a little serious sometimes but his unique and detailed cuts are undeniably one of the best we've experienced.
As customers will tell you, Chris takes his work seriously and will check your face shape before doing a cut. He doesn't just take off your length with a few snips but go to lengths to ensure that the haircut remains easily maintainable months afterwards - a reason why he was so popular among celebrities and us Singapore ladies alike.
While his command of English is simple, his superior skill in cut will compensate for any hassle in communication.
Looking for a stylist stronger in English? Do consider highly popular celebrity stylist 1 June (Isn’t his name unique?). Not many hairstylists can say that they've cut and styled hair for celebrities as illustrious as Song Hae Kyo but 1 June is one of them. He doesn't talk much and can be a little shy but as customers will tell you, his professionalism and skill makes him a worthy stylist to travel all the way to Jurong for.
A brief overview of 1 June's career shows that he first studied at Abida & Zett, Korea's equivalent of Vidal Sassoon, and subsequently worked at Ra Beauty Core, Seoul's number 3 salon.
1 June has garnered the attention of many clients including new ones who have been extremely pleased with his haircut and perm.
The Korean stylists here aren't just skillful, they look really gorgeous too.
We're especially mesmerised with Elly whose tall, beautiful and just uWu
Elly, Korean Senior Stylist
Don't you think she looks more like she belongs in a Korean drama?
This isn't the main point when it comes to picking out a hair salon, but it sure doesn't hurt to be greeted by attractive stylists.
Yuna, Korean Senior Stylist
Elly is not the only one we look for; some of us prefer smiley Yuna whose attentiveness and skill with perms has made her the most popular Korean hairstylist for perms.
Are you eyeing trending hair colors like Jenny from Blackpink, Suzy's waves in Start-Up or a subtle perm like Cha Young's in Vincenzo?
#DYK that the Korean stylists here are always experimenting with new styles to help their customers stay in touch with latest Korean trends?
All you have to do is to show them any photo of your favourite Korean idol and the stylists here will be able to advise you if your hair is suitable for that style. And if so, you can look forward to a Kpop style customized to the Singapore climate.
They're not just great for ladies. More and more men looking to up their hair game have been spotted within Pro Trim Korean Hair Salon. @ JEM as well.
Not surprising given that they are pretty known for their men's cut and perm. In fact, Pro Trim Korean Hair Salon. did the hair for Nylon Singapore's male model in their Huawei P40 Pro photoshoot. So yep, you know you're in good hands.
There's nothing wrong with feeling a little nervous going to the Korean hair salon for the first time since the stylist might not understand what you're saying and you may end up with something totally different than what you thought you would have. Pro Trim Korean Hair Salon. has an excellent team of Korean stylists who can speak English fairly well - we're talking about 1 June and Yuna who are able to engage customers with conversation at length.
As you can imagine, these guys have also been in Singapore for some time, so they have an understanding of local preferences and the hairstyles we like.
Perm by Yuna
Irrespective of the Korean celebrity pictures you show them, they would look at you based on your lifestyle, job and the humidity here so that they could come up with an appropriate hairstyle for you accordingly.
Hair Colour by Yuna
No matter what, there are some of us who will always prefer local hairstylists. Yes, we may want to make your hair look a bit more Korean-style but it is the local hairstylists who are easier to talk to and knows just what kind of style we like. The nice thing about Pro Trim is that you can have the best of both worlds right here at Pro Trim Korean Hair Salon..
Perm by Ann
As the local stylists here work side by side with Korean stylists, they've picked up with a bit of technique on Korean perms and styles that they've incorporated in their own hairstyles. So if you're looking for a local hairstylist that can give you an easily maintainable hairstyle with a Kpop flair, there is really no better place to find it than at Pro Trim Korean Hair Salon.
Perm by Karen
There are times you go happily to a salon (without checking reviews) only to join the My-'Do-Is-Totally-Ruined club at the end of 3 hours. As traumatic as the experience can be, Pro Trim Korean Hair Salon. provides us with a way out.
Even when you get your hair botched elsewhere, the stylists at Pro Trim Korean Hair Salon. is able to restyle and rescue your unflattering haircuts, colours or perms with their extensive experience and wide range of treatment services.
One of our reviewers shared about how local stylist Queenie was able to help fix her hair colour after a horrendous colour elsewhere.
It is exactly this level of expertise that lets fussy Beauty Undercover readers fall in love with Pro Trim Korean Hair Salon..
Whether it is due to the shy personality or their command of English, we find that Korean hairstylists tend not to chat too much. For us, that is actually a plus point.
You don't have to entertain them with small talk during the hair service and even better, the stylists tend NOT to pressure you into signing up for packages - something we really really hate.
What they tend to do instead is to smile a lot and check with you if everything is okay as they do their ultimate best to make you happy. As their service is so good and are so naturally friendly, you'll naturally feel like coming back - something the Korean stylists hope for.
This may be why they've been garnering so many positive reviews among customers!
Truth be told, Pro Trim Korean Hair Salon. @ JEM isn't the most aesthetic salon we've been but hey, they provide you with lots of space and hence availability even with social distancing.
We all deserve a little bit of space to unwind – in literal terms, don’t we?
You will also have your moment of privacy when you get your hair washed by the stylists because the wash area of this hair salon is hidden.
So no unglam photos of us when we're getting our hair washed.
With Jurong MRT is only 2 minutes away, you don't have to worry about the commute. Furthermore, Jem Mall has a pedestrian walkway all the way from Jurong MRT. So no worries about getting stuck in the rain when you visit the salon – then again, you’ll probably be offered a hair wash that is accompanied with an amazing massage.
Search for prices of ladies' haircut by Korean hairstylists and you're very likely to hit minimally $70 for many Korean stylists in town.
That's why we are positively surprised to find Korean Senior Stylists in Pro Trim Korean Hair Salon. charging $50 for ladies' haircut for all hair lengths (and $45 for men). This makes them 40% cheaper than Korean stylists in town... plus you don't have to travel all the way to Orchard to get your hair done. Given that their skill and service is better than many equivalent salons in Jurong, we think that Pro Trim Korean Hair Salon. is very possibly your best bet for a positive Korean hair experience here.
