Essensuals Hairdressing by Toni and Guy @ Orchard Central

I wanted a haircut and treatment. The hairstylist recommended color reconditioning. To my horror, he get rid of all my beautiful bleached highlights which I have done it less than one month ago. The end result is uneven patchy color. Plus, I need to pay this so-called Toni & Guys Essensuals Salon S$300 plus. Gosh...this is the most disgusting horror feeling. (Review not yet verified)

Nich is definitely my 1 and only trusted hair styist! She has been cutting and colouring my hair for many years and i have to say that she really understands the customer's needs. With her magic touch and snip of the scissors, shes able to give my hair the perfect look that i desire. Her service is impeccable! Always making me feel welcome at the salon. I would definitely recommend Nich to anyone who is looking for a hairstylist or someone who has been wanting to change his/her hairstyle but no courage to do so. Nich is the person to go to! Went for a cut and colour with Nich, my hairstylist for quite a few years now. Just wanted to say a big thank you for the wonderful cut! Nich is a very accommodating and dedicated stylist. Not only is she skilled at giving her clients the different styles they ask for, she is also very knowledgeable about hair and scalp care / maintenance. She’s attentive, listens to my concerns and always provides very helpful advice. Thanks for making every hair cut such a pleasant experience!

NICH-A Nice, Innovative & Creative Hairstylist. Known her for 5 years and am still trusting her completely with my hair color & cuts. She is a passionate stylist with creativity as experienced from the way she plays with colours. She takes heart to understand the texture of my hair, her available products & my liking to get a unique combi of colours. Till today, many of my friends & colleagues still envy my hair colour. Her cuts are also very bold & stylish. For my fine hair, my greatest satisfaction is that she can cut volume out of it stylishly (short and yet lady-like :) every strand of hair is visible thru the beautiful layering. I always believe it takes skills w heart to have your customer so satisfied. I am so thankful to have u Nich as my stylist. I’m always very confident with Nich. She’s the only hair stylist thus far that told me that I can cut my hair short. She takes her time to cut and not rushing to finish it . She’s serious and takes pride in her work. I’m loving my new hair style that she have given me , the best part is it’s so easy to manage.

I like the professional caring approach that Nich portrays all these 3+ years as my hairstylist. One who truly understands hairstyles that suit my hair texture and shape of my face to bring out my personality traits and confidence level. She listens carefully to my concerns and preferences before we discuss and decide on what hairstyle to go with each time. I always feel comfortable and fully trust her skill despite there are always many "equipments", scissor, clips, spray bottle, brush, electric trimmer/clipper whatever it names on my short hair (yeah, it takes more efforts to handle short hair than the long ones)...LOL. Most importantly, she always thrills me with loving surprises after each haircut. This is because I couldn't clearly see what she did each time when my spectacle is on the table. I let her finish her job and I'm like opening "present" each time when my spectacle is back on again :D. I'm happy and lucky to have her as my hairstylist for all these years and definitely many years ahead :). I'm more than happy to step-in to Essensuals Hairdressing @ Orchard Central, literally by Toni and Guy which is, renowned to unselfishly upgrading their Stylists for latest haircut trends, knowledge and service quality despite it is a little difficult to locate the salon initially. The salon is a little compact in size however, the friendliness and warm-welcoming of the staffs counter the flaws. Plus, the price is reasonable, in my perspective :).

Looking for a new hairstyle? Bored with your dull hair color or needing new hair colour? Or looking for someone to tame the mane for the upcoming job interview? Irene will ensure you walk out of the salon delighted and satisfied with what you see in the mirror. My preferred hair length is short and this means that I visit the salon more often to those with long hair. And instead of recommending me to keep the same style where just a simple trim will make the job easier for the stylist, Irene makes the effort to change my hairstyle so that it will not be the "same same" hairstyle all the time. It is important to find a stylist who listens. Irene takes time to understand my hairstyle / hair colour needs everytime before she starts. She gives up-to-date recommendations and also options for my selection. I entrust my hair to Irene because she takes pride in her work and I know I will walk out of Essensuals in a stunning new look/new colour.

Did Balayage but color is applied using traditional foiling techniques same as highlight instead of freehand. Separation between my base color and "balayage" shade can be seen (but balayage is supposed to be more natural). There wasn't much massaging during the hair wash. Instead uncomfortable tugging can be felt during washing and brushing. I was also left waiting at the uncomfortable hair wash chair without knowing for what or how long I am waiting for. Haircut is fine (still having good hair day after 3 days) with cut and colour completed in 2 hours. Pricing is okay. Salon feels cramp and magazines are not the latest.

Senior hairstylist Jack did my hair cut. He is meticulous taking every detailed in consideration when I told him that I'm the lazy type and wants something that's easy to manage. Result is exactly what i wanted!

Irene is amazing. I have always gotten the very best highlights, color and haircut. She is absolutely the best stylist I've ever been to. She will advice on home care therefore will not be going to another hairdresser again and will highly recommend Irene. They have high quality customer service.

I love the service there! The staff was really friendly and helpful during my visit there. The stylist assigned to me was also real friendly and patient. I wanted to bleach my hair platinum blonde however I was kind of fickle minded about the color. There are many different shades and I was worried about damaging my hair badly as I have thin and weak hair. My stylist was extremy patient with me and advised me accordingly. The end result, however, was not what I had in mind. My stylist kind of sensed it and asked why I was disappointed. Thereafter, he told me to go back to bleach a second round after two days. And so I did went back and he asked if it qas my birthday month and so I got a hair treatment foc. Kudos to him for being so patient and not hard selling anything!(:

My very first visit to essensuals at OC was abt a year ago. I was randomly assigned to Darren for that visit and since then, have never had my hair done by anyone else! Darren is always able to take into account my preference and use his professional judgement to produce a haircut that looks good even weeks and months after the cut! My hair used to be overly layered and hence appear thin and limp. Just after the first hair cut and color with Darren, I saw the difference - thicker, healthier looking, bouncier and more volumous. And the most awesome thing is, I never once felt that Darren tries to hardsell his service or products. He would always give suggestions and weigh the pros and cons, in a matter-of-fact manner, and allow me to take time to make my decision without trying to influence the outcome such that it benefits him. Its also awesome that he is a natural conversationalist!:D

Hi, April was my first visit to Toni & Guy and I'm proud to say that till date, I am still extremely satisfied with what my hair stylist came up with for me. From what I can remember, my last haircut was probably a few months ago before I visited the salon in april this year. So you can imagine what kind of mess my hair was in. I made a appointment with Darren because he was my younger brother's hair stylist and I thought he actually did a decent job on my brother's hair. I've had about 4 haircuts at the salon so far and I like how he always discuss with gives me suggestions on which haircut I should take and most of the time I will just go with his suggestion because it'll never go wrong. Also, one thing I appreciate about Darren is that he makes the entire process more enjoyable and less awkward by chatting with me. Darren gave me a lot of advices on what kind of look can I pull off with the haircut he gave me and also products that I have since added into my haircare regime. At the end of my first haircut, I mentioned to him about my dry hair issue and he recommended a wax for me that will create less damage than the normal wax. Of course, I'm stuck with that brand ever since. Toni & Guy's service is impeccable. It does not only restrict to the quality of haircut that they deliver, but also making the customer enjoy the entire time they are in there. The price will definitely be a bit steeper as compared to neighbourhood salon depending on hair length but I believe you always get what you pay for and so far there wasn't a time where I came out of the salon regretting the haircut.

I have been going to Essensuals OC for quite a couple of times now and I always look for Darren. There was never a time where I was disappointed with my hair, he gives very good recommendations and always respects what I want. He's a very friendly and nice guy to talk to as well. He has years of experience and he knows the kind of look that I am looking for. I will keep going back to Essensuals OC for sure! :)

I wanted to go to a hair salon since I have an itchy scalp. And I was attended to by Sky. I had a budget to do a scalp treatmentit has to be maximum sgd 100. So imagine my horror when he quoted me sgd 170. There is no where in the online price list for scalp treatment that it did cost sgd 170. The products used on me was the nioxin scalp treatment. So since I really wanted to get this done and over with I said okay. But what made me suspect that I could have gotten scamed or been overcharged when he asked as he was doing the finishing toucheswhy I never dyed my hair and I said it was because I have very dry hair and he actually replied “never mind dye it to make it drier”. Also what made me extra uncomfortable was he asked how much I did my previous perm and I said I couldn’t remember and he tried to guess it since I told him I did it at a Japanese salon. He ended with next time perm your hair at this salon. Just makes me wonder is he desperate for a quick buck? However sky knows what he is doing and honestly it’s the hard selling and the non transparency in pricing the hair services that is frustrating. I don’t think I will be visiting this hair salon again.

if you wish to know where i always get my hair done, its at essensuals at orchard central. look for sky, HES REALLY GOOD! he always seem to know what i want! <3 i recommend one my friends to him as well and she said that's hes really good too! if you ever visit essensuals at OC, look for SKY and said it was joycelyn's recommendation! thereafter, let me know what you think of his services!

their rates are so reasonable! a color change for only $130 for long hair. how affordable!

on a sat, went out early to have my hair cut and hair treatment at Essensual at orchard central.
i had complementary services for both, therefore decided to try out a new hair cut over there again.
my previous hair cut was also at essensual! 

yes.
a new hair cut.
hopefully i do look fresher! 

i got really lucky to have Sean a senior hairstylist to do my hair.
cause he is really nice.
he try to advise which hair cut will suit me better.
and he craps with me apparently anything.
from lunch to fred perry!
random!!

i snipped off 4 inches of my hair. or maybe more than that.
wanted to cut my hair shorter. trim off those dead ends, spilt ends or whatever.
so yes, its much much shorter.
wasnt really used to it at first. but i am now.

and nope, i dun really feel heart pain snipping off sooo much of my hair.
i am ok with it.
wanted a new hair style anyway.
and i cut bangs.

yes, received comments tat i look younger, innocent and different.
best! my bro say i look like a poodle?!?!?!

and after a hair cut, continue for hair treatment which help to give my hair some moisturising effect!
till now, i feel my hair softer!

i think doing such treatment seriously need patience.
which i am afraid i might not have.
i was super duper bored.

spent nearly 4 hours in a salon, on the same spot hurt my butt!  :(

We both did our hair today at Essensuals @orchard central and honestly, its dam shiok. Bryan had a haircut cus he really, really, really needed one. lol hair crisis. and he also got his hair coloured. he looks way better now. I just did a moisture treatment cus my hair is deaaaaaaaad and i want shiny hair :( . So yah, next month ill be going there again with angela and bryan. cant waittttt ~

I headed over to Essensuals located at Orchard Central to have my root re-touch! You see, i bought the voucher of this salon like month ago. Its a complimentary session. Hm… not exactly. I think i paid 30 bucks to purchase the voucher but i think its worth it!

Director Ray, chose the color of my hair and i’m so glad he didnt ask me whats my hair color cause i truly have no idea! However, guys, be prepared, Essensuals is located at a well-hidden section. So dont be mistaken that u headed to a wrong place (:
