Aramsa spa

Massage was really pretty good

The spa was good overall, massage and all. Though the steamer got us abit there but we survived the 15mins sauna and I ended up red liker lobster.

Kkk this picture is supposed to show that my face is red but like cant see leh tmd. Plus me is luvinnnn my hairzzzzzzz!

So as I was saying, our lockers were huge with sufficient space, we were there pretty early that’s why we can go steam and all lol. Showered before our massage and both Shuqing and I were separated away from Lala

Massage was really pretty good, found out that my body is really tense and whenever she do something to me, I can feel the cracks and all…………………………………… plus for the fact I’m coughing. Swear it was really awkward when we had to wear those………………….

Tea at Aramsa

I had a good scrub and massage at Aramsa today, really missed being pampered and being spolit, haha :P The gingery tea was good after the massage. You know, it's good to pamper your body once in a while.

http://www.aramsaspas.com/

My Spa Escapade - Aramsa The Garden Spa

This wasn’t my first visit. In fact, I am a regular at Aramsa Spa.
Thought I should share why I’ve fallen in love with this place and that it is truly difficult to find a second favourite in Singapore.

Nestled in a location like the Bishan Park, it is not hard to imagine the rustic serenity that surrounds this place. The glass entrance to Aramsa Spa and the aroma that follows soothe both your mind and body in preparation for the treats that you’re in for.

The changing area is spacious with lockers, 3 changing rooms, sinks and dressing corner (complete with dryer, comb, contact lens solution & sandalwood moisturiser!). The bathroom is hidden behind a sliding door with beautiful rustic shower area as well as a sauna and steam room.

After changing into the robes, Aramsa provides a lounge for guests to relax and have a light refreshment/reading before the treatment.
I loooove their sesame biscuits and tea!!

The single and couple rooms at Aramsa are designed slightly different from one another.
I love the ambience in the room and especially enjoy the unique outdoor shower experience!
Very romantic if you’re here for a couple treat – go for the outdoor bath tub! *wink*

I have tried most of their garden packages and my favourite has to be the Tropical Java Lulur package. It has my all-time favourite Aramsa Touch massage (combination of Eastern Meridien and Western techniques) and a soak at the outdoor bathtub! However today, I decided to give their signature vichy shower a try with the Rain Dance package, which includes an oil prep and floral infused exfoliation. I thought it would be painful but it was actually pretty shiok! The therapist adjusted the shower nozzle to my various points and a strong gush of water came pattering on my back in a rhythmic manner top to toe. Ooooo…!

And yes, if you think this place looks heavenly, it DOES feel heavenly!!
Besides their spa facilities, Aramsa incorporates 2 dining choices, the Green Room (Vegetarian food) and the Canopy dining, as well as a salon and pilates studio (PowerMove).
Come try it for yourself!

Aramsa-ing

About a week before the wedding day, I turned up at Aramsa – The Garden Spa. It was the boy’s very sweet treat.

It was a pretty hot day so I was sooooo glad I took a cab. Since I was going to pamper myself, might as well go the whole hog, right?

I registered myself and was provided with a locker key. Made my way to the changing room and was pleasantly surprised.

Such a pretty erm, ladies room! Steel buckets were used as basins and within, there were lockers, a sauna, shower stalls in the open (ok, not open open but they were ‘nature’ shower stalls), changing rooms, etc.

There was also a corner filled with a hair dryer, cotton buds, moisturing lotion, etc etc. Definitely well-equipped!

I changed out of my clothes and into the bathrobe they provided. I also changed into their rubber slippers and then made my way back into the ‘waiting area’ to wait for the masseuse to call for me.

Available were magazines, biscuits and lemongrass+ginger tea (free flow!) and I helped myself to some. Ahh….life

Soon, it was time for my massage.

It started off with the ‘oil prep’ which is pretty much having the masseuse apply some sort of scented (lavendar, I believe) body oil all over the body. Next up was the ‘floral-infused exfoliation’ which is pretty much the body scrub using some sort of scented erm, scrub.

At this point, I was starting to feel like a a chicken being marinated for dinner. Heh. Once that was done, I had to take a quick shower before the massage. There was an outdoor rain shower connected to the room so after she took her leave, I stepped under it. Very nice.

Next came the ‘shiatsu focus massage’ which was ok. It wasn’t the best I’ve had nor the worst. But a massage is always better than no massage. Following the massage was the ‘remineralising mud therapy’. Originally, I had thought that my entire body will be covered in mud but apparently not. Only my spine (!) had some sort of warm bubbling (!!) liquid covering it – I had to lie carefully onto it, ensuring that my spine was over the liquid. Pretty strange. Not sure how that ‘remineralised’ me…

Lastly, I had the ‘relaxing scalp massage’. This was done concurrently with the mud therapy above. Can’t quite remember much because I was pretty relaxed and sleepy by then.

I was quite reluctant to get off the massage bed after. Sigh.

All in, it was a pretty relaxing experience but definitely something for special occassions only. To be honest, I did not think the overall experience justified the pretty high price of the package. Also, I notice that the staff will always try and entice you into signing up for a package. Even though I told them specifically that this particular session was a gift (i.e. it’s a one-off thing!), they did not let up and tried to sell me the 10x package and then as a last resort, the 5x package, telling me all about the savings, blah blah blah. The usual selling spiel.

I am aware that they are only doing their job and granted, they were very polite about it. However, there’s something about stepping out of a spa session feeling all refreshed and then having a sales pitch.

It just leaves a bit of a bad aftertaste, ya know?

I do not rule out returning but again, only as a special treat. Very very occassionally.

knots

we decided to try something new this year so we went for a couple spa at Aramsa in Bishan Park 1. we have been there individually on our own but not together. we were treated to a swedish massage. i tried to catch up on my sleep but couldn’t. wanted to talk to mark but was instead greeted with a snore. so what could i do? so i decided to pray the rosary. all was well till the masseuse starting massaging my shoulder blades (the untouchable zone) i am notorious for the tight knots that i have there and needless to say the pain was excruciating.

Happy Weekend =)

Another pampering spa session and this time i’m going to Aramsa Spa with Grace =)
There was a UOB promo at $120 for Signature massage – Aramsa Touch (60mins)Aramsa Facial (30mins)Eye Cocoon treatment (20mins)
For Aramsa Spa i like the garden spa concept. Service wise… The staff are friendly
But i find my whole spa session kinda short. Facial and eye treatment is just something really basic but massage was still alrite. Maybe my experience at Spa Esprit Dempsey recently was too gd so my expectation for Aramsa was kinda high.
May try out Aramsa 1 more time without promo and see if it’s better? Hee

The Garden Spa, Bishan

As a keen spa enthusiast, I was surprised to find out that my older sister, a modern cosmopolitan working mother in Singapore, had never been to a spa or a massage! This is so unacceptable … and I felt that it was my personal mission to let her experience the wonders of what a spa can do to one’s mind, body and soul!

I decided to buy a spa package as a birthday treat for her at the Aramsa Spa – The Garden Spa located at Bishan Park. As this was a surprise gift for her, I called her one week earlier to ensure she allocated 3 hours of her time for me.

The Aramsa Spa – The Garden Spa was opened in August 2006 and it was billed as Asia’s first outdoor spa in a park featuring more than 22,000 plants from 200 species. This 7,500 sqm (cluster of eleven low-level buildings) has twelve treatment rooms that include massages, body treatments and facials, a wellness studio, corporate events room and outdoor courtyards, organic health cafe and a retail outlet.

On the day of her birthday, she was driven to the spa by me. We arrived at the spa 15 minutes before our booking slot. At the spa reception, there were 4 staff sitting at the reception table. The decor of the spa is rustic yet modern but the reception area was really small for such a large and busy spa! One of the receptionists showed us to the common bathrooms to change and asked us to wait at the lounge for our therapists.

Shortly, two therapists came to us and led us to the treatment room. As this is the first time my sister was experiencing a spa treatment, I opted for an individual treatment room so that she could be at ease. We could hear the birds chirping as we walked through the pebble footpaths to our treatment rooms.

The massage treatment room is of a good size with a single seater sofa in a corner. The outdoor rain shower and sunken bath are in the open greenery area. Aida, my therapist, introduced herself and led me to the sofa to soak my foot in a hot water that has been filled with mineral salts.

She carefully dried my feet and led me to the treatment bed. I started off with a body scrub. In between the scrub, the therapist asked me if her scrubbing technique was acceptable, which was very nice of her. To my astonishment, she was so attentive that she even scrubbed my belly button! When she finished the scrub, she turned on the shower, ensured the water was at the right temperature before leading me to cleanse myself.

While I was having my shower, she quickly cleaned up the treatment bed and got ready for my massage. The massage was one of the signature massage for this spa…. The Aramsa Touch Massage.

I guess most spa will come out with fancy names for their massage treatment and this is no different. The Touch Massage is nothing more that a Shiatsu massage with some aromatherapy techniques thrown in. Oh well…

After the treatment, we were ushered to the lounge for some tea and cookies and to relax. I asked my sister about her first spa experience and her only word was “shiok”; a local expression for an extremely exhilarating and wonderful experience. The hot lemon grass tea with pandan leaf (a tropical fragrant plant) and honey at the lounge was unique and certainly a plus.

I am glad my sister like her first massage experience and had left the spa feeling recharged & radiant. One more happy spa and massage member! Time to give myself a pat on the back for adding another die-hard spa and massage fan!

Feel lighter, more relaxed and very sleepy after massage

It was my 2nd time there with my buddy, Hil, and the spa was recommended by one of her colleagues. Knowing that the spa is situated at Bishan Park and surrounded by greenery, I was really curious to find out how the place would be like.

For both appointments, my friend and I chose the couple room (as shown in the picture). The spa has a separate changing and showering area, but as the spa has male patrons and staff, we chose to change in the room itself. The couple room comes with an indoor rainshower area and an outdoor bath. Although the bath is outdoors and the rooms have glass walls, but the whole area is fenced up with bamboo poles, so you can have an outdoor experience while mantaining your privacy. That is a big plus!

But the outdoor bath, or outdoor shower area for single rooms, can only be used if you sign up for tropical java lulur. Each session will last 2h 30 min and includes a scrub, mask, massage and the outdoor bath, but it will set you back $210 for single and $360 for double. I think that’s my only grouse about the place – that I cannot use the outdoor bath after my massage

Before and after each session we were taken to the Green Room, which is a relaxation lounge. We can help ourselves to tea, water and biscuits and just chill in the room. And I love the decor of the room! It has the look that I’m trying to achieve for my new place but don’t know how successful I’ve been so far. The room has glass walls too with blinds to block out the glare and it overlooks the garden.

As for the massage itself, my friend and I have tried the Aramsa Touch and Thermal Earth. Each session lasted 1h 30min and I went home after each session feeling lighter, more relaxed and very sleepy. Aramsa Touch is a relaxing massage using eastern and western meridian techniques. Thermal Earth is a hot stones massage, something very new to me.

Hil and I have already booked our next session at Aramsa. Our next massage is Inner Respite, which is a deep tissue massage, good for aching neck and back. We also got a free session of vichy shower and outdoor hydrotheraphy each, which we are going to try during our next session there. So watch this space for my next review!

Aramsa

Think Spa. Got the idea?

Kudos to Aramsa Spa. It was an award wining spa in Singapore Tourism 2006 award for “Best Garden Spa”. Well.. it is an understatement actually.

Nestled in the green canopies of Bishan park. Like an oyster that hides the pearl, its unsuspecting exterior conceal that what lies behind its door.

Walking into the entrance makes me feel like I have walk right through an episode of Samantha Brown’s travel and living program. This time I am really not kidding.

Miniature ponds, waterfall, pebble-cobbled walkway, individual treatment rooms, vichy shower! (yes, I’m not kiding). Everything was in place. I bet Samantha Brown wishes to be in my shoe (for once not the other way round!!!)

I chose their signatured ‘Aramsa Touch Massage’ which work on my tired and aching body. I felt ‘brand new’ after the 1 hour treatment.

To my surprise, the lady told me I could use their spa facilities which include the steambath! Of course I would not miss such good opportunities! Hehe.. Their showers room make use of the open outdoor concept and is incorporated with vichy shower-head. (yeah i really got a thing with shower-head) Haha..

I’m pampered from my head to my sole. And into my soul.

Well.. the thing is when I walked out of the Spa, I felt really good. Like happy. Its weird because I didn’t know that the place will have such a hugh impact on me. I felt my body releasing surge of that positive emotion throughout the day. I know I sound really superficial right now, (gosh, and it sounded stupid) but I’m not kidding! Haha.. So they say “money can’t buy happiness” Maybe they haven’t been to a spa.

Speaking of all these, I must of course thank one person because without her, there is no such privillege…

*Drumroll please*

All these have been courtesy of Shelley! The best person in the world to me! And no, not only because of the spa treat. But because of every other things.
