Aube Japanese Hair Salon @ Somerset Cineleisure

Done a rebonding touch up by Mr Nemoto at Cineleisure branch but the curls were not straightened after that. The last step when he applied the solution was washed off fairly quickly after applying. He said it should enough. When I saw the curls after washing my hair the next day I wasn’t convinced he was right. Anyways, he was professional about that and did a second round of rebonding touch up. He washed off even quicker after applying the solution. The curls were still there and the worse was my hair was very dry after the second rebonding touch up ! Forget it I will write off this salon (Review approved by Beauty Undercover)

Went for a digital perm under Hiro and my hair turned out to be straighter than what I went in with (I had permed hair before but it was fading). Even though he was polite and kind enough to offer me a 2nd perm, it still didn’t work and my hair turned out flat, dry, and fried. (Review verified)

All the hype about the TOKIO INKARAMI treatment caused me to develop the impression that it is a miracle treatment for my naturally frizzy, curly hair. Thus, after much research, I decided to splurge on this treatment at AUBE Somerset, given the salon's reknown reputation. Before the treatment, the staff at the salon explained the process of the TOKIO INKARAMI treatment detailedly before going ahead with it. She was attentive to me and occasionally checked that I was comfortable during the treatment. Thought the entire process was pleasant, but the results were utterly disappointing. It did nothing for my naturally frizzy hair, in fact it looked so frizzy that the staff had to use multiple creams to tame it. I even opted for the TOKIO scalp treatment to get rid of the minor dandruff issue but it seemed to cause my scalp to itch and generated more dandruff instead. The bill came up to be a grand total of $250++ and the staff advised me to do the TOKIO INKARAMI treatment 2 more times so that I can truly see the effect 😑 Overall, I won't recommend this treatment to those with naturally frizzy and curly hair.

I booked an appointment for a hair colour and I made an effort to be there at the given opening time at 10am. I inquired about highlights and was told by the stylist that he didn’t have time to do that and would prefer that I came back another day. I really could not believe that no consideration at all was given to the customer and it was just for his own convenience. This kind of attitude doesn’t deserve any business at all.

It was my first experience visiting this hair salon. The hair stylist attended to me was Reiko. Had a very superb hair experience from clear explanation of the step by step hair treatment to wonderful hair cut outcome. What I liked best was the hair massage and Reiko paid attention to me feeling cold and putting hot head rest as well as warm blanket. Would highly recommend this hair salon and looking for Reiko. Reiko is really pleasant and friendly! Through our conversations, I mentioned that I shared that I was too busy to get a hair cut for the past few months and I also love traveling. Based on that, she suggested a convenient hair cut for me which doesn't require combing at all after washing (amazing!). This is a winner as I recall how there are many times which I would forget to bring a comb while traveling, and this also saves time in ensuring my hair looks fine amidst my busy schedule. I can't wait to try the other services they have! Thanks Reiko! :)

It did nothing for my naturally frizzy hair. I even opted for the TOKIO scalp treatment to get rid of the minor dandruff issue but it seemed to cause my scalp to itch and more dandruff instead. Overall, the experience was pleasant but I will only recommend this treatment to those with naturally non-frizzy and non-curly hair. There is also no hard selling so don't worry about getting pressured to purchase anything~

This is my second visit to an Aube Salon. The first one was at Wheelock where Benjawan did a fantastic job with my hair! This time round I visited the salon at Cineleisure where I was attended to by Reiko. She gave a really great haircut! And was very attentive at all times. Despite the language barrier, I enjoyed chatting with her, and she was all smiles and friendly. Thank you very much Aube! Can’t wait to book my next hair appointment with them again.
