Having the hassle of drawing your eye brow every single morning? The Best Beauty Centre will do the trick for you

Having the hassle of drawing your eye brow every single morning? The Best Beauty Centre will do the trick for you. They will advise you the type of brows for you, they will draw a sample to your expectation, before they proceed. And the best part is ... it’s painless! I been to so many salon before, so far this is the best and I am so loving the After effect .. I don’t even look like a clown after she do the brows for me. It’s so natural and nice. I can’t find any flaws for The Best Beauty Centre so far, only thing is your brow will peel, but still even if it’s peels, it doesn’t effect your daily look, so I will definitely recommend you guys to go over and get your brows done before Chinese New Year! I am happy that I save at least 15 min of my Time every single morning. Oh ya they have eyes lashes extension too! Even Facial! They are having a 50 percent off for the brows i done.

Ever heard of 3D eyebrow embroidery from TBBC

Ever heard of 3D eyebrow embroidery? It imitates each and every hair strands on your eyebrows by creating strokes and strokes of line using a special blade. Unlike normal embroidery which only colour a full area of eyebrow, 3D eyebrow embroidery is definitely more natural and I will recommend THE BEST BEAUTY CENTRE!

New Year is coming!! My first visit to The Best Beauty Centre was amazingly wonderful. The standard was unlike the previous salon which I do not wish to name. Thankfully The Best Beauty Centre was really experienced in this and managed to get the job done really well.

Dishonest Practises

Beware and be careful of this place. 1. Had my eyelash destroyed by one of their inexperienced therapists. 2. They will try to ask you to re-do for instance, your eyelash /eyebrow, when only a re-touch will do. (which costs much less) 3. They have inconsistant pricing, saying one price and then charging a higher rate when you decide to go for the service. 4. Got overcharged by them underhandedly revising my package card to increase their prices of my treatment to the point where each session of the package price cost more than just one individual session! They will seem polite but all the staff will vouch for the unscrupulous practise by the owner. They have even threatened (very calmly) that even if we go to CASE (Consumers Association of Singapore), I would be the one losing out because of the fees I would need to fork out. There are much cheaper and professional beauty centers in Singapore. To be fair, if you are lucky, you may get a decent beauty consultant there - but then again, you won't go wrong with just eyebrow treatment for instance. The question is, would you want to support such an establishment that practise such disappointing dishonest behaviour in Singapore?

I got cheated into paying an amount I don’t agree to it

Yesterday I visited the outlet at Century Square yesterday and was VERY UNHAPPY about it.

Previously I had signed a package of $380 to do an eyebrow embroidery and only today I made an appointment to get it done. This is because I was pregnant at that time and was advise not to do it. As the lady, Jelin, who sold the package to me was under maternity, I was served by another therapist by the name of Joey.

And so the story begins. When I reached there, they were pretty nice chatting with me and were very friendly. Just before she began doing the eyebrow for me, she urged me to upgrade my package to a $3800. My face went all WOW! Spending $3800 on an eyebrow is crazy! So i rejected them nicely and was pretty firm that I would not spend that crazy amount. Then they started persuading non-stop and wouldn’t want to start doing until I agree. I even told them that it was already over my budget and I don’t have that much money to sign for that package. They started saying things that are indirectly forcing me into signing that package. They told me I can sign instalment plan and even rich people don’t pay a lump sum of that amount, and woman nowadays are very independent working so they don’t see how come I can’t pay that amount every month. The therapist also keep urging me to just give it a try first, if I don’t want I can just do the $380 no problem. After thinking for awhile, before she starts I told her maybe it’s ok, just do the $380 for me. Then she started sounding abit frustrated like why don’t I just give it a try first. So I told her ok fine. You can try but I won’t have that much money to pay for it.

After doing it, she started convincing me how nice it looks and I should go for it. She started lowering the package to one that is $2800. As I had been rejecting them for 2hrs, they still won’t stop persuading me! So I thought if I don’t agree, they just won’t let it go. So I ask them to try swap my credit card to see if it can go through. I know very well my card could not swap through $2420 ($2800 to deduct $380 from my previous package). Then the china lady at the cashier tried the first time it did not went through, and she tried 2nd time for $2000 WITHOUT MY PERMISSION AND IT WENT THROUGH! I was so furious that I started shouting back at her! WHO THE HELL GAVE HER PERMISSION TO SWAP $2000! IF MY CARD CAN’T SWAP FOR $2420 I DON’T WANT TO DO IT!! THAT IS ULTMATELY VERY RUDE! Joey at that time starts to panic and try to calm me down. She assured me that it can be cancelled if I didn’t want it. So I kept telling them to cancel my transaction and just go ahead with the $380. Then she said ok but still trying to convince me to top-up $420 for it! I was so angry I told her fine I don’t want to do it anymore and was prepared to leave. But she keep holding me back and just kept trying her ways to persuade. I was already in a hurry! What could be done in 30 mins ended up wasting 2.5hrs of my time at that salon just trying to convince me to get the more expensive package!

End up I got no choice but to continue it and I paid $2000 UNWILLINGLY and until now I am still very pissed off about it. It seems like I got cheated into paying an amount I don’t agree to it.

To the spokesman of Best Beauty, I had read your previous reply to other reviewers. What you kept saying if we are firm and decline there is nothing your staff can do about it. So does it mean that you are encouraging your staff to hardsell the service and products? You are not in our situation and you could never understand how we felt. Yesterday if I had not agree, your staff will just keep talking and not let me go.

If I can’t get my $2000 refunded, I will make sure I report this case to the media on what kind of service Best Beauty is giving the customer.

Friendly and polite

Just got my eyebrow done today! They were not as hard selling as what I've seen complaining by the people here? I manage to reject their offers and they are still as friendly and polite even after so. I mean which salon don't hard sell? To be honest, I'm quite Satisfied with my their overall service and my eyebrow colour did not fade into some disgusting green or red or empty holes when I first did at "SBH". Make your guess Of this salon. Yeah, their post service attitude was okay too. I'm giving it a GO for this salon.

Definitely a skilful artisan

They spent 1 hour to explain my package and very patient during the consultation. I have my own budget, although they have different pricing, i had done my eyebrow embroidery with their manager jelin 3 month ago, i m very satisfied the result. I think she had done a good job for me, definitely a skilful artisan. Will recommend her, thank you.

Overcharging

I went to tampines and was persuaded that the basic services they advertised for was not suitable for me. In the end, told me that for first timers, its best to get something natural looking for for 1500!

I have in mind to bring this all the way to CASE.

They are not only overcharging, and like what was mentioned here, keep adding on things to make customer pay. like the cream. the blade. These is definitely high pressure tactic to me and totally NOT in the customers interests.

Update: My eyebrow specialist was Jelin.

Service is damn bad

Dear Quenmantha Yeong, you mentioned that 'For the hardselling, we hope you know that you have the right to decline and leave anytime. Just be more firm and the beautician would understand.' I don't think that works at all!

The beauticians at CENTURY SQUARE outlet are not like that at all. I signed up for the eyebrow trimming package with them and they did hardselling everytime I went there. Even though I said I didn't want, they just keep repeating for 2-3 times throughout my trimming process and then they will start adding free facial treatments and lowering the costs of the packages etc. And then if I still don't want, they will be so sarcastic, saying that 'lower by so much still don't want' and 'you know how to count anot, it's like almost half price now?' I don't think that's appropriate at all, their service is damn bad. I'm now hoping that I will finish my package soon and I will never patronize them again.

I think the management should read into the services of the beautician at Century Square! Thanks!

Terrible service

i did my first eyebrow embroidery with best beauty centre at the toa payoh interchange branch 7 years ago and had wonderful experience with the therapist. till date, i can still remember her name (annie) and how her nifty hands did a beautiful job for me.

fast forward to today, i decided to go for a 2nd time. but sadly, the therapist isn't with them anymore. I was hovering with the thought if i should go back to them or try other places.

i was shopping at far east plaza one day and saw that they had a branch there too. and i had time to pass, so i thought "why not" since i had good experience with them before.

went in and check if they had available slots and i thought what good luck! the therapist had 2 hours free before her next appointment. then i asked for the price. the lady boss (or manager) told me $580 and stated i need to add 3% if i'm paying by credit card. ok. at least she state the topup i had to do upfront with me. +1 for honesty.(OR SO I THOUGHT!!) i asked for an example of how the embroidery will look like. Lady boss showed me a photo image and i'm please with what i see. so i said ok! let's do it!

therapist was efficient. sat me down, trim my brow and started drawing the template for me. after all that is done and shape of brow agreed, she proceed to apply numbing cream.THEN NIGHTMARE STARTED.she fished out this chinese booklet. in it, there are different kinds of brow with price starting from $380. followed by $680, $880, $1280, $1880.

where was the $580 that the lady boss mentioned, i asked.

therapist said "oh, it's FROM $580".. suddenly the story change. I told her that i only want the $580. therapist say don't have. only have FROM $580. so i ask her, if it is from $580, i wan to see the $580!

when we go shopping for clothes and the promotion says FROM $50, we still see $50 items!

so where is the $580 brow?!

i know i can choose to leave but she has already shave my own brows barren! if i leave, i will have botak brows! and of course,i felt indignant! didn't just want to leave unexplained!

so i asked to see the lady boss who quoted the $580. (i'm sorry i cannot remember the name of the manager/lady boss.) and made sure the customers inside having their facials hear me too.lady boss apologize for the "misunderstanding". she told the therapist to do the $680 brow for me since she has already quoted me $580. and for some reasons, $580 "wasn't in the booklet".

therapist was not happy of course. she keep reusing the soiled cotton gauze to wipe away the ink from my face. if the thing is soiled, how do you expect it to wipe clean?! my entire forehead, temples, cheeks were stained with ink. her finger kept applying pressure on my eye. (poke/stab if you will)and because i was lying down on their facial bed, she rested all the soiled cotton gauze at my shoulder. and even use my shoulder to keep the soiled gauze in place so that it doesn't fall off the bed. seriously?! my white top was slightly stained! WHAT IS THIS?!at the end of the whole 2 hour torture, i had a terrible migraine. not sure if it was from her constant "stabbing into my eye" or her skills are god-forsaken to begin with. we walked back to the reception area and inspect my brow in their huge mirror. i was fuming from seeing all the ink stains on my face. migraine made me fume more. i was using her stained cotton gauze to try wipe off all stains from my face. it was only upon request THEN she gave me 2 pieces of fresh new gauze to wipe off the residue from my face. one thing that came out good was the shape and finishing of the brow. i love it. exactly to what i was expecting from the photo that the lady boss showed me.i went back for touch up just last saturday. back to the same horrible (service), just on a different day. still using ink stained cotton gauze to wipe my brows, face. still stuffing stained cotton underneath my shoulders. still had migraine after it was done. and still had the cheek to tell me if i were to return within a year, it would be $325. (half price she say). how is $325 half of $580, you tell me?!my once wonderful experience with them went down the drain by this one person.i will never ever go back again. can't imagine if i paid $1880 and getting terrible service.

Will not go back to toa payoh branch

hi
I did the best 4 generation eyebrow embroidery 4 days ago at a 20% discount from $880 package. the manager and the therapist trying to upsell to take up the full package of $1280 and offer me 20% discount and a free cream if I do take up the offer. I am very firm of not taking up this offer. out of curiosity, isn’t the $880 package comes with a free touch up? why do I need to sign up $1280 package just for the touch up? when I get home, I realised the end of my right eyebrow was done slightly higher than the left. I was very disappointed with the service, and they just wanted to get customers to sign up package instead of taking care of customers needs. when I asked the therapist do I need wxtra care.

furthermore I asked the therapist how do I wash my eyebrow. she just said just wash as usual. I asked her do I need extra care. she said no need. but I understand from my sis n from research I hv to avoid water n pat dry for the first week. I was almost conned by the staff at toa payoh branch to pay additional $280 with 20% discount for touch up. my initial plan was to sign up the best 3 eyebrow embrodiery but was psycho to sign up $880 package for more natural effect and with 2 layers 3d embroidery. laterx I understand from my sis and made enquiry from another branch there will be a free touch up after a month. I will like to request for a free touch up at far east branch cause I feel the staffs there r warm n I will not go back to toa payoh branch anymore as I can feel that the mgr attitude has slightly changed when I refused to sign up to pay additional $280 for the touch up.

Updated:
As u can see from the pic. my right end of the eyebrow was done slightly higher than the left. furthermore the right end of my eyebrow has lighten quite abit compared to the left side with only 4 days old for embroidery done. it is the $880 package and the therapist gave me 20% discount as she mentioned it is specially for CNY. otherwise it is only meant for regular customer according to the therapist there. but she didnt mention the free touch up… only her mgr and her were trying to upsell mi the $1280 package by giving mi 20% discount for the touchup. which means I need to top up $280 for the touch up n not free touch up. her mgr also mentioned if I sign that up too, she will give mi the free cream worth $38 for disinfection and maintain the colour of the embroidery. otherwise I have to buy for it. which in fact I bought the cream cos I didnt want to pay additional $280 just for touch up. I heard from another branch therapist saying $1280 package is supposed to use machine n nt by hand. but the staff from toa payoh branch is trying to sell mi the $1280 package for touch up.

Lousy open-concept environment and hard-selling

Summary: Lousy open-concept environment and hard-selling, inconsistent service

I bought a deal voucher online ($9.90 for 3 x Eyebrow Trimming + 1 x Eyebrow IPL), and I first went to the branch in FEP. My therapist was Jane, she did a rather haphazard job and was done within 3 mins, and I felt that my brows were not done properly, there were still many stray hairs and the shape was not symmetrical. She also tried to sell the packages but thankfully they had other customers that day so she stopped after a while.

For my 2nd session I went to TPY bus interchange and it was a open concept place, which I really didn’t like cause everyone was just walking around. The therapist this time was slightly more meticulous but did hardselling as usual.

My worst experience was at the Jurong Point branch where I went to redeem the last session, the staff there actually accused me of changing the expiry date on my appointment card (they were handwritten)! They told me that my card was supposed to expire on 4 Feb and they said the 9 Feb was written over it, I explained to them that it was written by the therapist but they said why don’t you back to the FEP then, which I felt was really rude.

After that they told me I could redeem my sessions there but I have to top up $5 for each service (trimming + IPL) as it was the week before CNY, which I felt was pretty unreasonable because that was for their package customers, and it was not stated in the voucher (which expires right on CNY). I called their management but their response was just that it’s a surcharge for CNY and they won’t do anything about it. They seated me down and wanted to start the session but I told them it’s fine I’ll just forfeit the last two sessions. The store in Jurong Point was open concept, and worse, the seats face an escalator that is coming down, which means everyone on the escalator will be staring at you while your brows are being trimmed. Will not patronize them again.

Dear Lindsey,

We are sorry you did not have a good experience with Best Beauty.
Still, we hope to clarify a few things.

1) If you are unhappy with the skill level of the beautician, do let the beautician know so that she can fix it immediately. If you remain silent, it is not possible for the beautician to know exactly what you want and help you achieve your desired brow shape.

2) For the hardselling, we hope you know that you have the right to decline and leave anytime. Just be more firm and the beautician would understand.

3) For every beauty salon industry in Singapore, as long as it falls under CNY, workers would need to sacrifice their CNY holiday to work and there will be an exceptional number of people looking for brow services. To cope with the demand and compensate our workers, we have no choice but to impose a surcharge.

Finally, most of our salons are open concept as all our therapists are transparent about what they do and also, makes it easier for customers to find us.

We regret that you will not be coming back again but we thank you for your feedback and will strive to improve in the future.

Warm Regards

Heated argument

I went to the tampines outlet today and had a rather heated argument with them. I did a eyebrow embroidery 1 yr ago and went for the so called free touch up that they offered when they persuaded me to sign up for the 280 bucks package a year back. When i went back this time they claim that my blade was rusty and asked me to too up another 98 bucks for a new blade! When I did the embroidery a year ago i was told that i can touch at any point of time and there was no expiry! I even spelt out i have no intention of doing or touching up so soon!’ They told me its a one time free touch up with no expiry and I just have to bring along the receipt and blade. No mention of blade will turn rusty!! The sales girl keep on insisting that yes they give a free touch up but now your blade is rusty so I need to buy one at 98 bucks which is the exact replacement of the blade that comes with my package previously. When I insisted to not pay for me she wanted me to sign a consent! What a joke. And when my boyfriend tried to reason with them for not informing that the blade will turn rusty the rude sales girl just told him off to say that it’s my eyebrow and not his and he should not be interfering!

When he talked to the boss later on, the boss actually mentioned that my blade was the 68 bucks whereas the sales girl has previously claimed that mine was the 98 bucks and wanted to charge me 98 for the blade!! In the end we walked off!! And they are not at all apologetic!

What is this free touch up all about!!!

Dear Vanessa

The free touch up is valid only within 1 year of your eyebrow embroidery. Hence, the free touch up would likely have expired by the time you go for it.
The therapist was willing to provide you with the service out of goodwill but for your safety, we recommend you to get a new blade. After all, any metal blade kept for a year will turn rusty. The boss lowered the price to $68 from $98 to appease you but was unfortunately misunderstood.

We are sorry that you did not have a good experience with us but we thank you for your feedback and will strive to improve on our communication in the future.
