Color faded completely with 1 ST wash after 2 days

Totally agree with those 1 star review. Very disgraceful attitude. They keep blaming you instead of rectifying their mistake. How can color disappear after 1st wash with L’Oréal shampoo they recommended after 2 days. (Review not yet verified)

Great experience!

Was looking for a good and cheap place to colour my hair after my terrible experience at Plan B, despite ravings reviews on beautyundercover. My colleague introduced me to Cabello Casa and I am so glad she did. Patient stylist who took time to go through the different colours and possible effect given my previous dyeing experience with me. Great haircut as well! Will definitely this salon again. For a haircut and 2 Colourings, with medium long hair, it was just $210 which was a pleasant surprise.

Great customer value

I did my hair yesterday (31.07.14) with them. I arrived around 1820hrs and not even aware the shop will close at 2030hrs!! My hair was in a mess (seriously!!). Due to all the cheap salon I went to, really damage my hair for the 1st time!! And so I arranged and appointment with "Cabello Casa" and informed them that I want a Professional hairstylist to mend my hair as this was my first time there. Yes, my very first time. Well, my stylist is Catherine. I told her, do something with my hair as it look horrible. I need a refreshing style to suit my personality. Hence, she did some trimming, thinning, color, highlights & treatment.

There were 03 of them working. 02 ladies & 01 guy. Trust me, they are totally friendly. I'm such a perfectionist person with highly mannered, so you guys can imagine that I'm quite picky and choosy. I told Catherine, all I asked for is professional hair. She decide on what color and haircut should I get. I didn't decide a thing at all. I'm the type won't tell the stylist what I want. I will just tell them, I want your creative to be done on my hair. That's the reason I've stopped going to Snip Avenue or any cheap products salon 'cause the products will DAMAGE my hair (and it really did DAMAGE).

So they served drinks and some crackers for my partner and myself. They are very friendly and outgoing. Cracking jokes etc. 3 hours later, they are done with my hair. Catherine & the team, really took care or shall I say they give attention to my hair needs. There were only 3 customers, including myself for that evening. So wasn't that busy and I like it 'cause they can pay a lil' attention to your hair. That's my secret. I will never go to any salon which are crowded. The stylist can't really pay attention to your hair (that's true). After all, the clock strike 2130hrs! The shop supposed to close at 2030hrs. They didn't even rushed to go home. They have customer value. I really appreciate their service. I will come again in future, provided not busy on that day ('',)A very BIG thank you to Catherine & the Team for giving and being creative to my hair.

Truly Yours,*happy customer*

Meticulous and very patient stylist

Amazing service. It was my first time visiting as I was in a rush to cut my hair and the interior design of the salon had caught my attention. I had visited the salon pretty late, not knowing that they closed at 8.30pm. Despite this, the hair stylist Catherine had patiently explained to me how she was going to style and cut my hair. She gave me really good recommendations and was not pushy with offering other services. It was well past 8.30pm but instead of rushing through the process(I had done a hair cut and treatment), she had meticulously and very patiently ensured that my hair was in a good condition. She was really friendly, and I felt comfortable leaving my hair in her hands. I am not the type of person who would opt for a fringe but after she had explained to me what a difference it would make, I decided to give it a go. I am absolutely in love with my hair now and I will definitely go back for more.

Nice hair style

I had my hair cut together with my sister in Cabello Casa at Tao Payoh. The stylist gave me some suggestions on the length and style for my hair cut, and not surprisingly, it came out with a nice hair style and I like it .For sure next time I will make appointment with Alan, I like his skill and patient explain all necessary things and steps about the method to take care of my hair to me.

Disappointed with his professional ethics

I booked an appointment with Alan and took leave for the appointment. He called just one day before telling me that he got a more important appointment and had to cancel mine. I am disappointed with his professional ethics.

Ill-mannered,disrespectful and unprofessional

Alan Tan is most definitely the WORST ill-mannered,disrespectful and unprofessional person I have EVER come across. He has NO basic respect for his customers. He seems downright cocky. It’s only right that he assesses the rebonded hair properly to check if it needs to be re-done, instead of being a CHEAT by pulling the hair straight and drying it and then exclaiming that it is already straight!?

What’s WORST IS THAT he already had a list full is nonsensical excuses that he kept up his sleeves, saying that you should not have held up your hair with a clip, WHEN the curls where most evidently at the bottom and thus COULD NOT have been affected by the clip. He also CLAIMED that you have to come down immediately after figuring that the hair is not done well and to keep to an appointment, WHEN its clearly HIS FAULT that he had NOT done his service RIGHT, and CAUSING me a HUGE WASTE in my TIME to come down to GET my hair assessed amidst my busy schedule!

This proves that he already PLANNED NOT TO redo my hair much earlier . He’s SUCH a huge DISGRACE to our nation, rendering SUCH a BAD SERVICE and being utterly UNCOUTH in the way he responds to his customers when the customer was being polite in the first place.

So, I suggest that anyone in need of a hair service to NEVER drop by this place to encourage the CRAP of a service they offer.

My hair doesnt look rebonded at all

Its been just less than a month now.

My hair doesnt look rebonded at all.

Looks really dry and i can see evident curls.

I am devastated with the fact that i paid $235 with the worst service ever! Its daylight robbery.

If you want him to re-do your hair expect the worst outcome.

Bad and rude attitude

I rebonded my hair for $235 in cabello casa(Toa Payoh). Alan Tan convinced me that they use good products. I washed my hair on the 3rd day just to find a fairly large area of the inner section of my hair curled. The rebonding was not done well.

Ive been rebonding my hair for the past 7 years now and never experienced this problem once. I went to them and they told me they have to wash and blow-dry my hair to see where the problem was and I agreed. They washed and then ALAN TAN took over to blow dry my hair. He started pulling my hair straight and drying it. I called over to my sister to help me observe whether there were any apparent curls.

My sister pointed out to him to where she observed the curls and he started being rude telling her to “zip her mouth and sit down”. I started talking he stopped blow drying my hair and said “Do you still want me to blow dry your hair?” and even told me to “ZIP MY MOUTH”. He also said he is the stylist and that we should zip our mouth. I pointed out that I am the one paying and he said “ SO WHAT?” HE SAID “SORRY LAH” IN THE MOST SARCASTIC ARROGANT MANNER.

From the beginning it was apparent that he didn’t want to assess or re-do my hair. With that attitude he started giving reasons like because I tied my hair up etc. What really ticked me off is the fact that he was not being apologetic and was very rude, I’ve never been treated this bad.

When I told him Im going to write about him, he got cocky and said “Sure go ahead”.

I WOULD NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN AND I GOT THE WORST SERVICE EVER! IM TOO APPALLED BY THIS!

ALAN TAN NEEDS TO LEARN HIS MANNERS AND TREAT HIS CUSTOMERS RIGHT.

The cut was so-so

Had a haircut here out of laziness to travel due to my hairstylist that moved to the east side, as it looked the most decent in the neighborhood.

I asked for a straight cut because I’m not comfortable with risking any other hairstyles or layering with neighborhood salons. The cut was so-so, with the cutting skills being rather primitive. In less than a month, my hair needed a cut again so i say save your money and spend it on a better stylist elsewhere.

They blame it on my hair texture

They are no longer as good as before I use to rebond my hairs there twice result is good but recently I went back to do rebond again the result is lousy my hairs not totally straight and they blame it on my hairs texture. I have to spend another few more bucks to redo it again I swear I will never go back again. All the good hairstylist is no longer there as they kept changing hairstylist very frequent

My hair look great!

Most importantly, my hair look great! It's not easy to achieve good rebonding results on hair that has been damaged by rebonding chemicals 9 times! Btw, the shop is called "Cabello Casa".... with a name like this, you wouldn't really go wrong!

Dyeing of my hair

Yay, Alan the stylist did a fantastic job! For all those thinking of doing your hair, you could consider Cabello Casa at Toa Payoh. A lil’ steep, their prices. But you get good service, cool stylists and the salon doesn’t play irritating pop songs.. they play nice, soothing instrumental tunes.

Update: He’s called Alan.

Man, I have been running into inspiring people.

I barely sat down, Alan asked if I received their invitation to their very recent hair show. I said ‘no’. He asked if I liked the invitation card. The invitation card’s very professionally done, mind you. I thought the model featured was ripped off some hair magazine – NO, it was the effort of him and his team and singled out from over 300 photos. He then began sharing a bit of his story (without me asking).. starting up the hair salon and then had an idea to do a hair show at heartland Toa Payoh. He shared about how he started from scratch – sourcing for sponsors (of whom many rejected him), shopping for clothes for his models, staying behind in the salon with his team till 1 or 2am to sort out details and come up with ideas. And then he said people asked him if it was worth it to put in so much effort. He could have simply bought ready-made cards and just sent it to his customers in his mailing list.. he didn’t have to do a hair show at all, and most of all, not in the heartlands. So I reflected it back to him and asked what he thought. He said it’s worth the effort when customers tell him they see the sincerity and effort behind their work and ya, when they say they didn’t throw the invitation card away. Ya, I didn’t either. He also shared about his aspirations.. to be continually coming up with creative ideas and techniques in hairstyling and to present the best to their customers. I commented that I think they did a very good job with the invitation card, but he feels there’s still a long way to go. He said “Wo zui qiu wan mei”. WOW. I love it.

These people.. Alan and his team.. Mayday.. all started with dreams.

Oh, by the way, Alan’s seeing the fruit of his labour – from the photos he showed me, he’s been invited by magazines (at least one) to style models as well as celebrities. All because he chose not to give up even though in his own words he really “peng hen duo ding zi” and because he “zui qiu wan mei”.

Ha, we also talked a bit of cok. Quirky guy. And obviously very driven.

Anyway, the salon’s called Cabello Casa at Toa Payoh. The team there’s professional, but they’re not sterile (no pun intended).. you know, I don’t get the feeling that they are just there to get a job done. I have immense respect for those people there!
