Eyebrow embroidery

Purchased a $28 Groupon for eyelash extension just before CNY last year.

I work nearby but have never tried any beauty salons in the area so thought why not since it was convenient for me.

On the day of my appointment, instead of starting me on the eyelash extension which I was there for, the lady boss and beautician coaxed me into trying their "complimentary eyebrow shaping" service to "enhance my face". Despite saying no, they were quite pushy and kept telling me that there was no obligation and they just wanted to shape my brows and show me. I gave in under pressure. After about 15 mins, my eyebrows were shaped/drawn and next came about 30mins of intense hard selling by the lady boss and beautician.

They simply refused to acccept "no" for an answer and kept going on and on about how the eyebrow embroidery will enhance my features. It was as if they will not start on my eyelash extension until I gave in. By then I was trying tired and just wanted to get in over and done with. I thought initially I'll just sign for the cheaper eyebrow embroidery package at $900 but instead the lady boss exerted more pressure and hard selling and I eventually signed up for the $1588 package 6D eyebrow embroidery with unlimited touchups within a year.

I thought my nightmare ended there but apparently not. I was not told that I had to purchase their expensive repair cream (can't remember if it was $80 or $100 per bottle. In addition, I have to pay $35 for a new blade each time I do my touch up.

This place is totally a scam and I actually regretted right after they swiped my credit card that day but it was too late to change my mind as I was already lying on the bed. I later found out that it is actually unnecessary to do touch ups so frequently if the embroidery is done properly. Anyway, it's almost a year now, I can't wait for my package to finish up and I'll never step foot into the place again!

Lack of hygiene!

Before starting the treatment staff starts to do some upselling asking if you are keen on add on to make the treatment more effective. Should say the 3 hour package so called stated in groupon is not worth $48! Massage was average and the facial not fully completed. Cleansing of the face was not properly done. Feel like she is just doing for the sake of doing it. Some extraction were done, less than 2 mins of diamond peel and just applying of mask thats all. The staff were whispering and talking non stop complaining about the work schedule. They were not attentive at all. Lack of hygiene! Worst till they started me off with a full body massage after massaging my foot without washing her hands she went on to massage my face and head. Seriously?! Package stated in groupon includes spa and tummy treatment but non was included instead they replace it with putting some hot stones at the back of your body for almost 30 minutes. 1.5/5 stars.

Worst massage

Bought a Groupon voucher for 2 pax for me and my partner for 60mins massage and it has to be the worst massage we've been to using Groupon.

60mins was rushed. We were given the couple room free, but both staff were busy whispering away very often which was so irritating. The massage was totally rushed through, and their massage techniques were just horrible. Really, the worst massage we have both experienced.

Most Terrible experience ever

Most Terrible experience ever !!!Booked a 3 hr package, but was so disappointed that we walked away in 2.5 hr. 60 min massage was rushed in hardly 40-45 min, which was as effective as 20 min only. Applied face pack and walked away for over 20 min, when I called to ask how much more, say another 25 min.. just to complete the time ?? I'm usually very accommodating but they just made it the worst experience ever !

Update: I booked a couple package and two of them attended us. If I remember, one of them was Maggie.

Duration reduced by an hour

So I went for their spa. Overall experience is 3.5 hours reduced to 2.5 hours. Also purchased groupon. WhileMassage, staff can walk in freely as and when to chat and pull out trolley for facial etc. so for for some individual might not feel very safe. But I was accommodating. massage bed was.... Light such that you lie on it, she still shifts the bed a few times just to get to the other side. Massage was 30min instead of 60min. Basic knowledge of massages not piano type. Then lady was more skillful with facial. She did all the parts she needed to do. Cleansing exfoliation extraction face massage etc. extraction hurts, damn... Ouch. But that's the process for someone who hardly goes for facial. Facial I did with tummy Wrap. I did not do seperately, and I got quite a long session of tummy wrap, I dozed off. Only for a few minutes but I was comfy. No loud noises, maybe better to go earlier, be first customer. So they can focus attention on you. Then, basically I felt everything was given to me properly. Only in a shorten time frame. Oh yes, don't believe their up selling. Upselling skills, lousy. Say no they will accept.

So, don't buy their oil. It's just for their revenue. Just buy groupon and go and try and go home. End of the day, we are groupon customers so naturally we receive less then full paying customers. Thank you for reading, have a nice day everyone.

Quite difficult to relax

Booking: it took me 3+ days to schedule my appointment. I called a few times on a Sunday. Then someone picked up the phone but apparently couldn’t speak English. Therefore she had the good idea to leave the phone and go back to what she was doing. I stayed on hold for 5-10 minutes till I hung up. I tried several times that same day but obviously the line wasn’t free. I tried a few times in the 2 following days and the line was still busy. Thus I had to go to book in person, at the Novena’s location. When i arrived 3 staffs were chatting. i asked why they never pick up the phone. While I was talking with one of them, the phone started ringing and the staff didn’t pick up neither this time. When I asked why she doesn’t pick up the phone (cause I experienced this for 1 day), she answered: don’t you see I’m busy talking with you. :-)

The package: This was literally a farce. Beside being in a room badly isolated with all the noise from the neighbor’s office (the AC gives you direct access to the full noise of the next stand. I literally felt I was in a middle of business conversations all the time. Quite difficult to relax with this).

The package comprised:

1. 60 minutes Balinese Massage: One of the poorest massage I had in Singapore

2. 10 min Tummy Trim Treatment: After the massage they left 3 heating lamps close to my body and they disappear for 20+ minutes. I started calling and knocking but the ladies were chatting and laughing, they couldn’t hear me. I stood up and ask someone to come. The tummy Trim treatment was over :-)

3. 90 minutes customised facial: The lady used 2-3 creams, quickly used the devise to hoover up things on my face, washed up with some water (total time ~15 minutes) and then left me again alone for 1 hour. That was the ned. The facial was supposed to comprise: cleanising, exfoliating, extraction, customised treatment, face mask and face massage. Really ?

4. 20 minutes Sauna: didn’t even see the sauna.I’m surprised this merchant is still in business but I’m very disappointed by Groupon which should better evaluate and screen the merchant promoted in its platform.

The title of the Groupon: $48 for 3 Hour Men’s Spa Indulgence at Ja’zz Spa in 2 Locations (Worth $550). Based on my 4 year experience of spa in Singapore, it would have been more honest to assess the value to this package to 30-40$….seriously $550 value package for this farce? I even regret having spent $48 and wasted my time.
