Maintained the service standards

I am currently at Joe's Coiffure getting my hair rebonded and getting some highlights. Was appalled by the reviews above and I highly doubt that they were served by JoE. Have visited her salon all the while and I think that she has maintained her service standards and good attitude.

A most unpleasant experience indeed

I bought a deal voucher for hair colour at Joe’s Coiffure before. The salon looked sparse and unkempt. There were only 2 staff and I was attended to by this young boy with dyed hair and spectacles. Very inexperienced and clearly lacking in skill. One would have thought that hair colouring would be relatively easy compared to hair cutting and the rest, but he messed up really badly. There was hair dye on my forehead and my earrings! (He didn’t even bother to put ear caps on me). Was really displeased and asked if the other lady could colour my hair for me instead, but she just said that he could do the job as well. A most unpleasant experience indeed.

I will give it a 3 — the only saving grace was the price.

Thumbs up for their great service

A lot of my co-workers referred me to this salon as their service is good and cheap. So May last year during my one week leave I went there for a rebond+treatment+cut+wash&blow. I really love the outcome of the package and it's almost a year and my hair is still very straight eventhough 5x a week I need to tie and bun it at work. So thumbs up for their great service.

Joe's Coiffure

Last Mondaymet Muihong at Far East Plaza as we bought the outlet coupon for Joe’s Coiffure. Muihong wanted to dye her hair and I wanted to do treatment for my cui hair. It was $35 for Hair Colour+wash+ blow or Japan Heat Hair Treatment+wash+blow or Haircut+wash+blow+hair treatment. I asked for the heat hair treatmentbut I don’t think she gave me that cause it was suppose to be 4 steps but they only applied the treatment cream and put the steamer and wash off. Honestly I don’t think the treatment did what it was suppose to do because even immediately after the hair treatmentI didn’t feel that my hair become ultra smooth. I only felt that my hair smell very nice but it’s because of the hairmist? she sprayed on my hair. The place was not that crowded when we went at about 3.15 but it got super crowded as the time went past. I saw some people having to leave or waited for more than an hour even though they had appointment. Plus something they did shocked me. There was this girl who came in to apply for the hair stylist assistant and they asked if she was free right now to help them work. I mean like what??? she’s not even trained and they don’t even know how’s her skills and all that and they asked her to work because they were short-handed. Bad! Muihong’s hair colour also came out too red at the top of her head and she went to buy hair dye after dying her hair and she went home to redye her hair. Her cutting skills was okay I guess because Muihong said she was worried that she’ll screw up her fringe but she didn’t.

Good service

Brand of products used:
i) Rebonding – Hair Senze / 헤어 센즈
ii) Colouring – BEAVER

The hair stylists that attended to us is Joe/Joey and Jess, and both of the are very meticulous during the whole process from assessing our hair to applying the chemicals till the end. They were so cautious and attention-to-detail that as they question us about our last visit to a hair salon, the treatments we did, when it was done, their hands were still fluffing at our hair, flipping it here and there, their eyes scrutinizing the condition of the hair and until they are convinced that they have fully assessed our hair condition and the extend of which the chemicals can be applied, did they proceed to get us to choose the hair colours. Also, when Joey applied the rebonding cream to my hair, she remembered the area where it was last rebonded, and only applied the cream to the areas where it wasn’t treated from the last time I rebonded my hair. “It is not because we want to save on the products used but by double treating your hair with the cream, we are causing more damage than necessary to your hair, it’s the same for colouring, although we charge the same price and go through the same procedure, but it is always recommended to simply colour the grown-out hairs than to recolour the whole head to take advantage of the products used. Unless of course, you wish to change it to another colour and you don’t really care if your hair gets badly damaged, dried and etc.. ” – says Joey. For me, I agree with what she says and I like the way she’s being outright frank and honest about what’s the best for your hair. She’s also patient when answering our queries on the colouring as we are concern over the post-colouring fade-off colours of the dye. The best part of this experience? We were told that if we were to revisit them for the same treatments, it shall be kept at the price of the voucher we bought, that is, all the Rebonding + Colouring + Treatment + Cut + Wash + Blow @SGD104.00!!
