Very superb skill

I did a a cut and soft rebonding at team salon jem,vin yong was my stylist. This is my frist time here, previously vin was work in another salon,I follow him to new place,I’m blown away by the service and the expertise! Really comfortable experience. I feel that I can trust vin with my hair and the salon makes a point of having the same stylist attend to you throughout the service. I love the cut and soft rebonding as it looks really natural.

Super disappointed and waste of money

I decided to give myself a treat, so I went into Team Salon @ Jem, expecting very good results as it was raved about by many.

I did the cut, color and treatment, first time customer rate for long hair is $238. I added highlights, so additional is $85, total of $323. It may be affordable to many, but to me, it's kind of pricey. But I thought it's a treat to myself, so i proceeded. I made an appointment at 6pm, but was served only at 6.50pm.

Finally a lady came to serve me but she used about 20mins walking around the shop talking to her colleague, AFTER we decided on the color and style that is suitable for me. Oh, and also to the toilet after that 20mins of wait, she told me to wait again as she needed the washroom. So eventually we started kind of late. I mean, cut/color/highlight and treatment. They close at 9pm.

Hmmmm.. She did my highlights first, and explained to me that the highlights will be very light, and the base she chose and (mixed) will be very dark, so I'll look younger. After she did the highlights, she asked another lady (much younger) to dye my hair with the darker dye, the younger lady washed my hair too (was alright).

Treatment done was very rush, as they close at 9pm. First service lady (older) skipped the machine beep and cut my treatment time short. This time she washed my hair (treatment), with very hot water. :/ The end result is totally different from what she said.

My base color is still light like my old color (as though I didnt dye my hair), and the highlights are not visible. Mainly bcos my base is light, the highlights became redundant and not visible. Rushed to cut my hair and rushed my payment so they can end work on time.

Can't believe the service and skills. Try them at your own will. I had a bad experience, with money spilled. Not worth my time also. Boohoooo!!

"Miscommunication"

Asked for a dead simple cut, just half an inch off of my collarbone length hair. The Chinese Male Stylist repeatedly suggested different styles to which I repeatedly said no.

While cutting my hair halfway, he said he would layer my hair. When I asked him to explain what that meant, he said ”right now your hair is same length, so I layer your hair hah”. I told him again that I wanted my hair looking like it did a month ago, long but just half and inch shorter.

This genius decided to get creative and gave me a short bob. Now I look like an old hag (aka Auntie) Braniac kept insisting he only cut off half and inch and layered my hair exactly like I asked him to.

Complained to his fellow female hairstylist which apologized several times and cited it as a ”miscommunication”. I asked her to rectify as best as she can and was asked to come back tomorrow. I insisted she fix it immediately and she grudgingly looked it over and said that maybe I should just leave it alone so it can grow back again (duh?). In the end I asked her to trim the thin layer of hair at my nape which the tool left behind. Is a bob/mullet or boblet in vogue?

Still charged $36 after a ”generous” discount of 20%.

And all this while Rembrandt/Master Stylist remained adamant and unapologetic. I have made my displeasure known via their Facebook chat and was asked to come back to see their Liz creative director tomorrow Wednesday. Maybe they can’t put the hair they cut off back on my head, but I’m thinking the least they can do is gimme some of that hair grow mojo they’re peddling. Will post the outcome once that happens.

Totally overrated

I got a totally different experience from the other reviews. Totally overrated. Stylists could not even communicate well. Half the time I don't know what is going on and walked away 500 poorer.
