Extremely disappointed!

Extremely disappointed! Bad service, unprofessional to em... The girl who made my nails was very rude, not knowing anything of English... The result is horrible, it has about 3 weeks and it looks like 8 weeks, she also destroyed the shape I had and she couldn't understand some basic words to do my nails as I wished.. . They initially told me a price, but increased the gelish manicure price at a double price... I don't recommend at all this salon!!! Would only rate it 1*

Update: Initially, they told me by phone that the gelish manicure it will cost around 60S$ and when the girl started to do my nails she told me that it will cost me more and the final price was 120S$ which is kind of double price...and, as you can see, this is a very simple french manicure, i didn't even asked to cut my cuticles or change my shape or anything :(

My visit was on 24 April 2015

Extremely unhappy with the service

Extremely unhappy with the service there. I arrived around 2:55 and the girl told me they will have space 15 minutes later. When I went back at 3:15, another manicurist told me that there were no available spaces and I told her that the other girl had told me there would be a space in 15 minutes. So I went to choose the colour for my nails and waited anyway as I have done my manicures and pedicures there many times without a hitch. I stood and waited for at least another 15 minutes before I frowned at a manicurist and she invited me to sit in the other room. I had to wait for at least another 30 minutes before it was my turn. While waiting, one of the manicurist mistakenly served me and another manicurist alerted her to another customer that arrived first. I went to the washroom while waiting and was listening to some recordings of my own stuff. I think I accidentally pressed the record button when going to the washroom and came home to find out I had recorded some of their conversation when I left the store.

Out of curiosity, I listened to the recording to find out that the manicurists have been gossiping about me when I left. This is certainly not the kind of attitude that service professionals should have. It is unbecoming that you would gossip about your customers once they leave the shop. They mentioned how I would not wait for my turn and that I asked if there were empty spaces and I retorted that another lady told me it would take 15 mins. A Chinese manicurist claimed that I asked for empty space afterall and not how long it would take. She then added that because the manicure I'm getting is cheap so It's my fault I have to wait. Another Chinese manicurist said afterwards that she dreads customers like me and even when she doesn't want to do the manicure, she's forced to do so. During that time, there were other customers around too. I don't think it was an appropriate setting nor was it even proper service attitude that they carry out small talk. I will never patronise them again because of such a poor attitude towards customers. But then again, they don't need customers like me since I don't pay as much for a manicure/pedicure. Highly recomsider if you're looking for friendly manicurists and bring your money elsewhere since they don't seem to need customers who don't fork out much.

Attitude is just plain horrible

Bad service. My friend and I are students so we decided to give TNS a try since they offer $3 manicure to students. The staff called Ma Le was serving my friend and her attitude is just plain horrible. She did not do a good job of my friend's nails. The paint is not smooth and there are even some lumps on the coat of paint on my friend's nails. I can sense that she was very reluctant to serve us. I asked her how much would gelish/ having designs on nails would be and she said in chinese $100 plus and her tone was terrible. Based on past experiences, they only give good service to those who are willing to spend big bucks on their nails. I would not recommend anyone who just want a quick, fast and cheap service to go to this nail store. I still don't understand why they have to offer this $3 service to students when they are so reluctant and unwilling to serve customers.

Disappointed with the service and quality

I was really disappointed in terms of the service and quality , my friend and I went down on a Tuesday to have my nails done , since I was having parties for 2 weeks after that I thought it would be great timing since gelish last at least 3weeks! Esp since I don't do housework and all . Who know, the next day , one of my studs dropped! I know studs dropped easily but it's not even 24hrs! 5 days later the color of one nail cameOff!! Even my friend said that on that day the service wasn't good. The manicurist are always in a rush, accepting every customer that comes in . Hence it's super rush . Although I loved my nails at first . But when it's started to fall apart... And I have to go back twice! Once to fix the stud and another time to fix ANOTHER stud and the nail color that came off. In the end j have to pay $3&On top of the 70 I paid for the nails in the first place! I mean, of it's not practical like the studs I should be informed . In the end I removed some nails and had to pay half for their mistake . I was super angry and disappointed , which of course i won't be going back . My original manicurist was Faye btw . Anyway, if you guys want nicely drawn nails, go somewhere else or some other manicurist , don't waste your time andMoney in the nail status

Cheap and reasonable

Did gellish french pedi and and regular express french manitotal comes to about $62 which is reasonable. $35 for gellishextra $20 for french tips. Then $12 for express french mani and shaping(regular polish). They quoted $101 for gellish french mani+pedi which i find was a bit pricy considering i am not getting any glitter/art/rhinestones. So i just got gellish for pedi as i wanted it to last longer.
They do pay attention to detail when painting the tips which is great but when it got busier the nail technician rushed though finishing my mani and and didn’t clean up under my fingernails which doesn’t justify the price i am paying. The good thing is that for manicures the pricing is cheap and reasonable but honestly i wouldn’t pay extra for a classic mani/pedi as they only soak your feet not much scrubbing and massage done. Still relatively good pricing for their services although i wish they could come up with a better deal if i wanted gellish for both mani and pedi! I would go back again.

Lots of uneven lines

Perhaps because it’s Friday evening, and I was a little late getting to the nail place because of traffic onward to town, I had to wait a short while for the assigned manicurist to be done with her other customer. I think I spent a rather long time trying to think of which design to pick since they had so many ready samples for me to choose from, other than abstractly describing to me what can be done without the visuals to show. But I did this while she was taking off the previous set of gel polish, and also while attending to some other matters. The service at Nail Status isn’t fabulous, but it isn’t bad either. I’m not saying that Fave was bad, but in terms of variety and also the skills of the manicurist, it’s easy for me to decide right away that the former definitely won me over, even though I hadn’t put in any special requests for any star manicurist since it was my first visit. I won’t say that her skills are perfect, and the painting isn’t without flaws maybe also because she was distracted sometimes by another customer who was waiting impatiently next to me, and thus she was kind of in a rush to get my nails done while pandering to the customer tapping her feet away. But even in a haste, her skills in application of the polish shows a certain level of expertise and practise, not like at Fave where the manicurist I had seemed pretty unsure of her strokes and ended up with lots of uneven lines and therefore perhaps the extra coats of polish that ended up on my nails.

Patient and professional manicurist

If girls you all do not know which manicurist to look for, do try out Zovial’s skills. She is very caring and do in details. After she file finish all my nails, she held my hand up and check each and every of them vertically to ensure all of them are filed straight and neatly.

Furthermore, after she file finish my right hand, she did compare with my left hand to ensure both are of the same length so that it will look nice.

Patient and professional manicurist! *thumbs up! :D

Bling me up > Kawaii style !

However, there are always anomalies for 'Nail Status' at Far East Plaza at Orchard is in a rather 'dodgy' building (as compared to the rest of the malls on Orchard) but the quality and service as well as result there is a definite A*. This has been proven through years of going there, being their loyal customer and happily watching their small business grow bigger and bigger as they have recently made it into local magazines. Go Nail Status! They usually get crowded real easily so book in advance to avoid disappointment ! I paid SGD 204.80 for the gel nail extensions there and my bestie who came too paid roughly SGD 200.00 too. Pricey but totally worth it > after you get used to taking out your contacts without poking your eyes (x.x)
