Born in Penang, Emil has been making a mark for himself in the region. He was the founder of KL’s The Met before selling it away in 2014 and is currently focusing his time now in Singapore. What makes Emil stands out as a stylist is that genuine care and interest he has for his customers. During our first session, we feel pampered with the time and effort he spent on us. It was considerably more than what is usually expected, and make us feel more at ease and able to get to know him better, like a new friend. We were particularly awed at his keen eyes for details, when he figured out what our interests were based on little trinkets that we were wearing. He would then shape his haircut accordingly to suit our taste!

Like a grandmaster chess player, Emil plans for long-term goals to achieve with each customer. He do not promise miraculous solution to fix longstanding problems you have with your hair in one sitting, but walks you through what specific issue he’s targeting on in each session to ensure one problem is fixed before moving to the next. With his 24 years of experience and meticulous planning, each trip feels purposeful and you leave the salon feeling satisfied.

For laymen like us, choosing a new hair colour can be overwhelming with all the dozens and dozens of different shades. Thankfully, Emil was very kind to help us narrow down the colours suitable for us based on our skin tone, and placed the colour samples on our current hair to see what we thought of them, narrowing down one by down. The whole process was comprehensive and not rushed, with him giving us his professional opinion if we are unsure. What you get is brilliant hair colour done by an expert who have won various awards such as the L'Oréal Color Trophy. For those who are afraid of hair damage, he will personally guide you on the various things you can do easily at home to minimize damage while maintaining your vibrant new colour!
