Mayu

Even if it is your first time meeting Mayu, you'll probably feel a familiarity with her that makes it seem as if we've known her a long time before. Serendipity perhaps? We found ourselves opening up to her as we ease into a chat; at first about hair and soon, outside of hair. Her excellent command of English definitely helped, something she picked up after living in the US in her childhood.

Through our conversations, we can sense a steely determination beneath Mayu's chill and outgoing exterior. This isn't just a stylist who is in this trade to have fun. Having undergone much training and self-upgrading, Mayu has built up a strong sense of aesthetics inspired by famous Japanese hairdresser Masao Hiratsuka that guide her hair designs. She doesn't just cut hair based on your preferred hair length; Mayu designs hair based on the Size, Balance, Control philosophy that requires all her hair designs to achieve holistic balance in the various visual components. She does so by getting customers to stand up in front of the mirror to determine the ideal hair length that will flatter their entire body shape and choose a haircut design and colour that bring out the personality that a customer wants to highlight. Mayu's consultation is therefore among the most unique and most systematic, another reason why she is highly raved among new customers in Singapore.
