Hair Eclipse Salon @ Far East Plaza

Bought a coupon deal for $38 for hair colouring. as its a deal, didn’t expect too much. However, the service exceeded my expectation. Normally for other salons they will put the dye on your hair once and then steam. However after steaming they actually checked the colour again and did some colour touch up. I’ve been to top salons where the stylist spends minimal time on each customer even tho u pay a huge sum. Or salons where even if the other stylist have nothing to do they will just slack and do their own thing. But for Eclipse, as I was early so there were few customers, had 2 staff work on my hair. Wash and treatment was basic but done well. The hair dry was also done skillfully, they manage to make my flat hair voluminous and super smooth. Had my fair share of bad coupon experiences but this salon is an exception. A $38 service felt like $380. Plus they didn’t try to hard sell to top up any package. Highly recommended.

Called the salon to book for hair treatment. The call was answered promptly by a male staff. His verbiage was proper. However, he sounded harsh and rush. Its like he is rushing to go home or something. There is no human touch in it.. Hopefully their treatment and service is good!

Had my hair treatment today. My appointment was at 12noon. I arrived slightly earlier at 11.50am. Was served promptly by a male staff and shown to sit at a nearby chair. The staff looked at my hair and recommended me to have it trim, which I declined. After which, he proceeded to wash my hair. I would say, the hair wash will not be suitable for people who likes pressure and massage. I can feel that he was using force, but I couldn’t feel my scalp being massaged. I can only smell strong cigarette smell from his hands.

During the hair wash, he explained that the treatment to me, and enquired if I would like to top up $20 to have another kind of hair treatment, which I declined. Following which, he tried to make small talks with me, awkwardly.

After the hair wash, at the basin, he applied the hair mask on my hair, wrapped it with a towel and told me to sit at my chair for ten minutes for the mask. After which, he went for a smoke with his colleague. Drinks were offered, which I declined.

The hair treatment was just the application of hair mask for ten minutes, washed off, blow dry, and application of an oil which I had opted for. A very simplified and brief hair treatment. But well, I bought it as one of the deals online, so I guess I can’t expect much. On the other hand, my friend once said that as it is a deal/promotion, it means that they are having an offer on the exact same product/service, thus they shouldn’t be skimping on it..

There was nothing bad about my experience. But at the same time, nothing good about it as well. Felt a bit cheated by the brief hair treatment, but I guess that’s how it works. I probably wouldn’t go back there again though..
