Izumi

Having decided on her career as a stylist very early on, Izumi dedicated her life to constantly improve her hairdressing skills. She began her career  in Minami, Aoyama in Tokyo, moving to various hair and beauty salons to learn under top stylists such as Kudo Seiro, Tanaka Chikashi, Ono and even makeup artists such as Shu Uemura himself to see how hairstyle design can integrate with makeup for an overall look. As many of the Japanese hairstyle techniques are adapted from American stylists, she decided to move to New York to learn from the masters themselves. She stayed in New York for 20 years, learning from directors of Vidal Sassoon and Toni & Guy and eventually opening her own salon in New York. She has also met and was inspired by top stylists such as John Sahag, Frederick Fekkai, Brad Johns, many of whom cut and style the hairs of celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston.

Izumi’s love for hairdressing and desire to improve her own skills did not stop after coming to Singapore. She continued to keep up with the latest haircutting styles and has also mastered the art of Motegami: hairstyles that make your face smaller and eyes bigger to make yourself more attractive!

Her solid credentials make her the best haircut specialist we have seen in Singapore. Whether you have Japanese hair, Chinese hair, Indian Hair, Malay Hair, Caucasian Hair or even the hard-to-manage African and Middle Eastern hair, Izumi can draw upon her more than 3 decades of haircutting skills and experience to design the right haircut for you. Her unique combination of haircutting techniques is the main reason why her customers come back to her; although her charges seem expensive at first glance, her haircuts can last more than 6 months for females and still not go out of shape!
